I read the lightning thief when I was 10. I remember that my dad was going to like give it away because my big brother didn’t want it, and being like wait. We don’t do that here. So I read it, and by he end of the year I had read the whole series and HOO. Now a couple of years later, I realise how much worse i would be going without these books, like it has helped me so much with my mental health, and sexuality etc. These books have literally saved us.thx for listening to my ted talk. 😆

I read this book in less than 24 hours and loved it so much, and I really hope that Rick Riordan decides to write more Camp Half Blood books (also more Magnus Chase and Kane Chrinicles and everything!). I think that he was kind of hinting that there might be a book or some crossover novellas with all three mythologies, and also a Nico story sometime soon, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Percy Jackson is my favorite series of all time and I love your cideos so much!

I wish you read my coment. Not really good at English, but hope u understand well, sorry. I just want to say that I felt every single word you said because I felt the same way. Literaly, heartbroken because I just wasn't ready for that, for the end. I read the lightning thief for the first time when I was 9, I'm about my 20 right now, and I passed my entire life stuck in depression and every hard time I took the books to read again, and again, and again, I have no ideia how many times I read all the books again. the only thing that made me feel that I needed to be here was something like "oh no, you need to be alive cause in some months you need to read the tower of nero". And now that it finish, I'm really bad. I felt it in the most deep role of my heart, cried alot, more than I cried in Jason's death (he was my second favorite). But you know something? In the one of the last chapters, *SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS*, Nico says that he needs to go back into the the tartarus for finish his "unifinish business" and then Rachel get another prophecy that isn't show for us. I dont know if I understood it right, but I'm in hope thats not the end. Rick never let his storys unfinished. I really apreciate what Rick made with this, he created a world that is possible to feel, to live. And if thats really the end, I need to move on, and get to my 40's to push down the little kids and be first to whatch the series. Love u girl, u're soo Annie!

i think rick was indeed hinting at a future book about nico!! he said that he isn’t interested in writing more series, but that standalone books are a possibility and i think we’ll definitely have a book about nico. i’m so glad these books mean as much to you as they do to me, i’m so glad that they brought you comfort and hope, and i’m so proud of you for staying alive to read them. i cant wait for both of us to live long enough to pass them down to the next generation. i’m sending you the biggest hug.

I also started reading the books when I was about 10, I was introduced to the books from my best friend at that time. I really miss those times because I’m my school there were me, my friend and two other that were obsessed with it and Greek mythology in general (My 4th grade teacher was actually Greek and loved Percy Jackson and Greek mythology but I wasn’t into it at that time). I honestly have no idea what to do now because I start reading them until I was in 5th grade and hadn’t experienced the ending of the other series since that year it was when The Dark Prophecy came out and ever since I had something to look forward to this time of year but it has now all come to an end now but this has been the best 4 or 5 years for me.

I sobbed when I finished the book. I read it in 24 hours and once I closed the book, it finally hit me. It's over now... there's no picking up the next book. This was it. And that hit hard. Percy Jackson became part of my coping mechanism. Particularly the acceptance of Camp Half-Blood and the concept of godly parents. I will forever say that I'm a child of Apollo. And I will forever prefer Apollo (even if he didn't grow up and was still the Apollo we met in The Titan's Curse) over my real dad. I will forever think of Camp Half-Blood as a place that would accept everyone no matter what. I'll forever relate a little too closely to Nico, Leo, Piper, Annabeth, Percy, and Will. I will always think of the Percy Jackson characters as my friends and I will always think of Camp Half-Blood as my safe space. My second home.

I really felt you 10000% on the whole “ this feels like I’m saying goodbye to a part of me” bit at the end. Percy Jackson was the book series that allowed my love of books to go from “ oh this is a nice story” to “ this is what a book can be”. The ending felt like I was saying goodbye to that little kid that fell in love with this world and that the thought of getting another book with all of them wasn’t happening. But maybe that’s okay cause maybe were supposed to grow with them and be like Percy and Annabeth and go from the kids fighting monsters to the adults ready to fight the real world

I have been reading these books since i was 7 and i also still remember the exact place i started the lighting theif in and went back to that place to finish this book, it hit me really hard reading the end of tower of nero and watching the end of this video (i definitely cried) just knowing that every night since i was seven years old no matter what had happened in the school or in the world or in my own mind no matter what almost every single night i could go back to these books and see parts of myself in these character, i especially identify with Annabeth Reyna and Leo because of how they hide their emotions behind power and leadership and humor i can really relate to because in the last year especially with all the stuff thats been going on in the world and in my mind having to tell people im ok cus i dont want them to worry about me even when somtimes i really dont feel ok, those characters have really helped me and its scary to think that i wont get to see more of these books that have been my entire life for so long, but the last words were right "We are friends now. Call on me. I will be there for you." its true they will always be on our bookshelves or in our local library's and they will always be in our hearts. I understand the feeling that you’re going through but maybe not on as high of a level as you. These books were so important to me growing up and they started my “unhealthy” obsession with reading. I just wanted to say that although these books have ended, part of u doesn’t have to go with it. Yes, they may have helped make u into who you are but you should be happy when u look back at the books and not sad. And when u feel the need to, you can always confide in them when u feel down since they will always be there. At least that’s how I felt. Most of the time, I don’t want to talk to anyone when I’m feeling down and that’s when I started reading. It helped me overcome depression and altogether helped make me who I am. It’s about looking at the good things in life. Look at the glass half full in these books and see what they made u become, not what you’ll miss form them. Just thought I’d tell u that since I can really relate with how u feel.

Holy crap. Just- holy crap. I- when I first picked up percy jackson, I was maybe 8? 9? I had finished Harry Potter, which initially got me into reading and is a whole nother story about unhealthy coping mechanisms for imposter syndrome and newfound gifted kid-ness, but anywho. Um. I really grew up with these books? Like. I tore through the initial series in a couple months, before I really understood what a lot of what the characters went through meant and then, when I was 10 and 11 and starting middle school I discovered the existence of HOO. So, those characters brought me through early middle school and I started to get that these are real issues and that's what got me into a lot of my current interests and who I am. Seventh grade is a bit of a haze of magnus chase and Kane chronicles, and trials of apollo- it's gotten me through the start of high school. This book, this last book, feels like an end of an Era for me? And it's not as a big deal as yours, I'm sure, turning 19 and real world, yay, but; I think this is my childhood ending and it really just hit me after watching this vid that this is the CHB books over. And that was my comfort, that thered always be more in the universe, but there's not now, and You already brought up all of these points already so this is kind of counter productive and i should really be asleep right now but I think I just needed to get it out somewhere (where no one will likely ever read it but at least it's there, eh?) And these books helped me deal with so much through being the 'smart kid' in every school I went through and, again, not a big deal compared to others trials but it always hit me where it hurt most and seeing Annabeth succeed even when all she had was her brain and everyone's expectations that she was just as good as demigods with actual powers and she rose to be even better, seeing Nico come to terms with his sexuality and slowly coming tk trust people with that when I was first questioning, seeing Percy in his utter ignorance of the different cultures around him (greek, then roman, then Egyptian when that crossover came out) but learning and everyone being ok that he needed to learn first, seeing Piper having to battle stereotypes even if it was in a slightly stereotypical manner because that was what I needed to see, and seeing will being there for Nico even though he had no way to know what he was going through, like I'm still not sure how to help my friends with mental heath because I don't know, has really really helped me So. This has gotten to be a bit long. But it all comes back to: these have been in my life for six years, six very important years and essentially the entirety of my childood that shaped who I am as a person, what I value, how I interpret things, and were an escape I logically know will always be on my bookshelf, and yet I still feel it's an end of an Era that I'm not ready to be over, not ready to stop growing, because what if I do too?

I went through most of the Heroes of Olympus thinking that Jason did nothing and I think that reading the burning maze gave me a whole new perspective on him and the fact that he died just makes me feel awful because just as I was starting to really appreciate and like his character he dies.

Percy Jackson has really changed my life and has made me view the world a lot differently like a lot . It made me feel like I could me the main character for once in my life cause I've always felt like the extendable friend but to see Percy be the main character instead of being the funny side character made me feel at home. Percy Jackson is my comfort zone.

It still hasn't sunk in that the series is actually over. I started reading at 11 and am 20 now. My story is so similar to yours that I just started crying halfway through the end...this series has got me through my worst and been a constant companion and safe space. Seeing it end in conjunction with the time I'm starting to understand adulthood is very bittersweet. Still, I know camp half-blood will always be waiting for us when we need it ❤️

I also wanna say I really connect to your story on discovering this series. While a totally different situation I was also in a rough spot. I was at a book fair in 5th grade and we had just moved into town. I was weird so I didn't have any friends so I spent all my time in the library. One day it was the book fair and one of the books had this sick ass cover on it called the, "The Titans Curse." I picked it up and only realized a little bit into it that it was the third in a series so I had no idea what was going on until a ways in. Afterwards I was super hooked and read the rest of the series as it came out. Fun fact: I read Annabeth and Percy's first kiss on the bus and it may be one of the only times I had a smile during a bus ride. Anyways, I connected to the fact that Percy and Co were also different from everyone else and went thru hardships but they made that difference their strength and they persevered thru everything that was thrown at them. It really had an impact on me so when I found out that the overall story (hopefully the spinoffs tie up loose ends) was ending, I felt a certain sense of loss I wasn't anticipating. Hearing about someone else's personal connection to the series kinda eases it in a way and I just wanted to say thanks for sharing that.

I finally got my hands on this book, it took sooo long to be published in my country, it was a pain in the ass. But now I read it and I liked it quite a bit but I guess I read it way too fast to catch every detail, so I will reread it soon I think. I feel like the last book of a series always is the most important book and in this case even more so. I think my favourite part was the ending, meeting everyone for the last time

Just some creepy coincidence. Apollo (god of healing, medicine, and others. He even talked at one point in The Hidden Oracle how he went on a vacation and when he came back the Black Death happened) this time he was sent down as a mortal, and COVID started, this cannot just be a coincidence.

Percy and Annabeth are my favourite characters in the series as well. Particularly Percy - he was my childhood hero. He still is my hero. I don’t think it’s selfish at all that u wanted them to be heavily featured in the tower of Nero - I wanted it too. In fact, I literally couldn’t read the book properly without knowing that they were in it so I flicked through, not actually reading any of it, and just looked for either of their names and when I found them (when sally and Paul mentioned them and also when we final,y saw them towards the end) I wasn’t satisfied - those moments were gorgeous but I need more.

Something that would be so heart warming, Apollo comes to new Rome and tell Percy, Annabeth, and Grover that someone has stolen his lightning bolt. They all look at each other, nod, and say that they were together, and they all have a memory of their first quest and being so scared and now on there way to the last one. I wished this would have happened

Hey uh so I just discovered your channel. And I wanted to say that I feel you. And how you connect to these characters. I only started reading the Percy Jackson books like two years ago, and I know I haven't known them for that long, but they all just... have a way of connecting to you. The world of Percy Jackson may be a fantasy world, but the characters are so real. Their stories, their feelings, their problems and their growth. Reading all of the books in short amount of time maybe didn't give me the anticipation and longing that other people felt, but it sure made me realize how much all characters grow. They grow with what happens to them and it forms who they are. They get older and understand more. And I think one can really understand how they become the people they are, if one pays close enough attention. These characters feel like friends, like a part of me I always wanted to connect to but I couldn't without their help. Seeing the story come to an end made me cry, I think while I read the end of Tower of Nero I just cried the last 30 pages nonstop (earlier in the book to, of course). But the whole journey was worth every tear I shed, every laugh I had and every smile it brought to my face. I am so thankful that the world of Camp Halfblood excists. It made me realize many things about myself in the last two years of my life. So... I feel you. How you don't want to put an end to this world, believe me. Me neither. And it is totally okay not to. A story doesn't have to end just because it seems to be over, a story lives with the people who read it. And as long as you hold Percy, Annabeth and Grover in your heart... the story will never have to end for you. Not for anyone who feels the same. ❤
