Tower of Power introductory video.

This was a little video from the first lockdown. 'Project Awesome' has been set back quite a bit by the recent pandemic, but there's still plenty of work going on behind the scenes getting some of the technology sorted.
I'll do another update on this when I start actually wiring up the new Tesla coil!

The thing has moved house with us several times. I think it's over 20 years old. We've really tried hard to forget to water it and generally abuse it but it still keeps bouncing back!

I have a 2kva 240 to 110 volt transformer in the garage on its own supply of 40 amps and it will still trip the house on occasions, I had the electricians in and they have all told me that such an inductive load will do that just depends on where in the cycle the switch closes. Trouble is I have loads of 110 volt power tools from when I ran my own fabrication business and now I have retired I dont want to just get rid and replace them all with 240 volt tools apart from the cost my experience is 110 volt are more durable. The only answer is to replace the trips with slower ones which are used in industry.

Well, I use the big 110v transformer as an isolation transformer. Though sometimes I run it without one just to see how many parts of the house electrical installation I can bugger up! ;)

Mark! do you need any organ bits for Project Awesome? i'm in west Cornwall and a church near me is being stripped out, many of the wooden pipes were burnt in a fire by gypsy bastards but there are many bits (including, i believe, the original keyboard control console) that are still there and, theoretically, operational. would you like me to make a point of seeing if i can save them for you? i would do my own project with them but i simply don't have the space, and i desperately don't want to see the whole lot go to waste.
