I remember cars getting flooded all the time when I lived on Surfside Beach back in 1982. People would come down from Houston and other areas inland for the weekend. They park at low tide and get stuck at high tide. I lived at 52 Bluewater Highway when it was a small RV park. Hurricane Allisia whipped it out back in ‘83. Now it’s a Luxury RV Resort with a restaurant. Great memories growing up on Surfside Beach. Back in those days the Happy Crab Bar was on the beach along with a pier.

I remember going there in 1981-1982. My jr high neighborhood buddy’s would bribe High schoolers who lived on my street to take us down there from sugar land for $20. There was a buc-ees real close to surf side that sold mini styrofoam boogie boards and these crazy looking flip flops called titties that would not come off your feet while in the water. They were the precursor to the modern teva or watershoe. That beach was mega fun for 14 years old. I also remember pushing out a new Datsun 200SX that was owned by my neighbors sister that got stuck in the sand very close to the entrance Dustin used. That car was super low to the ground. She had no business being on the beach 😅

Many many moons ago on Padre Island a guy got his Ford with a cab over camper stuck at the water line. Two tow trucks couldn't get it and the tide was coming in so everyone had to leave till morning when the tide went back out. All you could see sticking above the sand the next morning was the top 4 inches of the camper. The whole truck went down and took forever to get out.

Everyones standin around shootin video of the situation but what I noticed was that the Stegodon winch with a nylon rope on the jeep worked pretty well with the other winch on the other jeep . THATS what my video would be of if I were there. Even if the other winch was a Stegodon, for all those folk who claim they have the Biggest ,best,most expensive winch? Well there you go ! Stegodons are really a great winch plus they have some really nice remote control features. The Stegodon pulls faster and has a remote control that works far beyond 15'. (like60').

And my husband was an over the road truck driver long haul and then ending up just delivering brand new, semi trucks locally, which I helped him with in Salt Lake area, etc.!!! But I lived in Palm Beach Florida and also went to the New Jersey shore and Rhode Island, and have driven on Daytona Beach… Plus I lived with my husband in Alaska and our boys and we had a lot of times where we got stuck or we helped other people get out of being stuck, helping push them out with the vehicle or using tow ropes, kitty litter, shovels, etc., etc.!!! I love doing that!!! So impressed with you tow truck drivers or whatever you call yourself!!! I’ve been in a few of your trucks With my husband, etc.!! Thank you so very much for the great video!! Was the Oregon coast with my husband a while back, and I got out to jump around in the surf and look for shells, but my husband was freaking me out/scaring me, driving our black Jeep into the surf, etc., where this could’ve happened!!! He always liked to push the envelope!!! Thank goodness and Heavenly Father we/he didn’t get stuck!!!! Thank you again! have you found the gospel of Jesus Christ!?! ❤🤟🙏🌎😇🪴🤗🥰👍😊🚚🛻🚛

Jeep Wranglers are very light vehicles. Being light makes it difficult to establish a firm grip with the surface it's riding on. Trying to pull the Dodge truck from a 90 degree angle is fruitless, especially on sand. The best course of action was to pull straight ahead which is why the winch worked so well. Lastly, Yanking vehicles like "William" was trying to do is a no no.

This reminds me of a guy I once knew with a classic Mercedes, who decided to drive it along the beach at low tide. I don't remember if he was tore up or what was the reason, but the car was left on the beach, the tide rushed in, and the car was history. He reported it to the police as being stolen, and actually laughed about the whole sordid affair. By the way, his family owned one of the insurance agencies in town.
@scotthester-g9m7 ай бұрын
I am the only one that thinks this Ram is or will be totaled out from the salt water, maybe the insurance company wont be involved but that salt water will ruin any electrical connectors, and rust out the frame over time. Brake lines rust the frame from the inside out. Driver is not too bright.

At Surfside, parking that far out on the beach is only possible/prudent around low tide. When the tow truck arrived, it was nearly high tide (at high tide, there's almost no beach left). Anyway, this means the RAM owner left his truck unattended for 4+ hours as the tide rose. What a moron.

Let's bring a 7000lbs truck to the beach that is not even meant for mid-level off-roading. Well, he got a 7000lbs paper weight now with all that salt. Let's not forget to mention the people standing around the cable-snapping zone. All the people at that beach (not including Dustin) must add up to less than 100.

Never be anywhere near where the water meets the sand. If you've ever stood in the sand where the water washes over your feet - you'll feel the sinking and the suction. You don't want to test your vehicle this way unless you have balloon tires that are like over 35" and a 2 foot lift.
