Tom and the crew are talking about how these rappers think that the rap game is this glorious industry. But really your dealing with fake and destructive individuals. And know the artist really just want to be around people and family that are real and a safe environment. Also saying how you could just lose yourself in this environment. I love this song and Tom Macdonald and you guys!! You pretty much hit the mark on this song 😊 I love that they’re spreading a message with most of their music! Nova has a song called “you did your best” and oh my gawd... being a single mom for so long before meeting my husband it really hit me in my feels and I cried so hard. Bc I can only hope my kid looks back one day and says “man my mom really did her best for me.” Most important part of being a good parent is just showing up 😊 great reaction y’all! This song wasn't a favorite of mine. But a friend of mine once jammed this all the time. She was a very troubled youth... 27. Never really knew anything other than the streets. She was also taken by the streets. Not sure why she liked the song, but it reminds me of her. I can't listen to it much right now because it reminds me of her....

I believe they are talking about themselves and how they can be highly depressed yet hide it well. A reminder that with depression even when everything seems to be going perfectly the depression is still there. I know Tom talks alot about mental issues and how he struggles with them. He wants to put it out there but not in the promotional way that so many main stream rappers do.

There's several aspects to gather from in my interpretation of it, but I maybe incorrect. 1) If the industry is forcing you to sound a certain way, you can still deliver a poignant message to people. 2) Your creativity should be self owned 3) If the label doesn't allow for that creativity, you can leave the label and start over. 4) don't surround yourself with drugs, and thugs. If need be you can abandon it 5) the name of the collab album between Tom, Nova, Madchild was called Killing the Neighbors. If the neighbors are artists in other subgenres, don't judge the artist by the genre, but by the skill level. As a demonstration they, these 3 proved that just because they are in a different subgenre that they are not less skilled. But to also jump into other subgenres is to prove the skills transfer over. As in an ice hockey player, can play field hockey, croquet, golf, and potentially polo.

When I was first running through Tom's yt catalog, I didn't like this, didn't finish it and kinda just blew it off as I can't like everything. As I got to know Tom and Nova better and I watched this again and finished it, I knew how much of a parody this was when Nova's voice was deeper than everyones. Then I started picking up on all the comments on modern day rap including the fact they seem to have pimped out a trailer while covered in Gucci. They're rapping in front of a beater like it's a lambo. I liked when when I realized the auto-tuned (which I hate) was a statement.

I definitely don't think mental health issues are new. Remember how they had a bunch of mental wards filled with a lot of people back in the early 1900's? Now we don't have those anymore. So, surely we're seeing some effects of those not existing anymore. Thus partially contributing to why we see more people in open society today with mental illnesses. Although I think we also have other problems that are making mental illness more prominent. It seems strange that they had those mental wards back in the early 1900's. So obviously our country was aware that mental health has been an issue. But it's weird how those places seemed to quietly phase out over the decades, and then awareness or acknowledgement of mental illness didn't seem to exist much at all until recently.

I also think they wanted to show they could make a mainstream sounding song (everything autotune these days) but with a message. Isn't it also interesting how different they could make their voices sound? We only know because we've heard their real voices on other sings first. Makes you think about all these artists coming out that use this all the time, do they actually have talent or is it just the machines they're using and then projecting an image of who they are to us. Long story short it's all fake. Leave it up to Tom and Nova to make us a dope ass song to show us this.
