Sound advice, was really important to mention that not every toxic person is toxic 100% of the time. We all have areas of life we rock at, and others we need to level up in a bit.
@DirtCobaine3 жыл бұрын
That actually is actually pretty sound advice. I am the happiest, most productive, self loving I have ever been simply because after 22 years of insomnia from abuse and trauma, I fixed my sleep schedule by getting up super early and even if I’m tired I stay up and I can fall asleep easier at night. And go to bed at the same exact time every single night and wake up the same exact time. I wake up at 5:45 am and I go to bed at 10 pm the latest and 9:30 when I’m beat. And having that alone time in the morning while I have my coffee and smell the morning air as the sun is rising is my most favorite thing and it’s having that little thing to look forward to that has made me happy.

It's nice to have someone, but it's unhealthy to need someone. A person who cannot be happy alone, cannot be happy in a relationship. Happiness is an internal force. People can enhance your happiness, but they cannot give you happiness. Someone who is discontent alone, will be discontent in a relationship. You gotta take care of yourself, before you can take care of anyone else. You have to love yourself, in order to be able to love someone else the right way, and most people love their need of you, more than they love you, and that's just the way it is, so love yourself, be genuine, and you will attract the right people, while repelling the wrong people. If someone doesn't enhance your life, you are wasting your time. True love cannot exist without respect. Like life, relationships are all about balance, and staying centered and grounded in what makes you feel happy, because you can't give what you don't have. Much love.

Gotta draw some boundaries. If you've lost touch with friends you used to talk to or see often, go see them/talk to them just by yourself. If you've lost touch with some of your unique hobbies to yourself, then seriously get into touch. Sounds like he misses the person he was and the alone time he achieved during that time, possibly how productive he felt at the time. If you can draw some type of boundary for your space and your person can understand your POV and also respect it (like you hopefully can with theirs), then it should be no issue, they want you to be the happiest and flourish as an individual. We all should still retain lives outside of our relationships.

Keeping some alone time is crucial. I'm not a morning person so what I do is go to bed late and have those few hours for myself. I also cherish my time with my girlfriend whom I live with, so it's extremely important to find the right balance between the two.
@haachamachama73 жыл бұрын
In my opinion it's not "Be single and have alone time or be with the one you love." Sit down and have a talk with her, I know it might be hard and it's not easy to do without thinking she might think you don't wanna be around her(and she might, if she's insecure), but alone time in a relationship is just as important as together time. Obviously, as you said, balance is key, you can't have too much alone time, though, otherwise it'll start to feel like you're just tolerating eachother.

The advice to the guy that wants to end his relationship to have his life back is to just...think about why he feels that way. The reason could be that the person just isn't right for him. I also felt like that in a previous relationship because spending time with that person became a chore. Turns out not every person will make it feel like one. Some people you will actually enjoy being with. It might not at all be about balance
@reezlaw3 жыл бұрын
It could also be that the other person is of the extremely social type, and she is not familiar with the need to spend time alone that some of us have. It's not her fault, and if the relationship is good all it takes is an effort to explain. Not all problems are caused by suffocating toxic personalities. Sometimes fixing things is easier than one might think

Andrew, I've been following you for many years now. Given how approachable you are, I hope you can read this comment. In a former video, you mention being on Lexapro, where it works for some time, then its palliative effects stop. Have you thought about checking your testosterone levels? Low testosterone is now being discovered as one of the largest culprits of male depression. If possible, see a doctor and ask to get your T levels checked, and if your levels are low, begin TRT. It might be the answer you're looking for. I suffer from similar problems with energy and am also on ADHD meds. Good luck man, I love this new content you're putting out there.
