Fantastic video and DIY warning...this is a tough project. My wife’s 1998 4Runner needs this, especially after 200k miles...but it looks like I need to let my local mechanic handle it.

Just did this and it was really much easier than I thought it would be.

why were they replaced in the first place? what was the symptoms?

If I have the whole rack and pinion unit out, that should make it easier to replace the bushings. Correct?

Do you have the brand and part #'s for these bushings?

Are those TRW lower ball joints?

Thanks for the warning. Why you didn't show how you did it?

I did this on my 2004 Tundra, it’s a Northeast vehicle, it’s a nightmare to do without the proper tools.

To remove or install bushings, use threaded rod and pipe or deep sockets. Not easy, but no special tools needed.
