I believe the SUV craze severely impacted the design philosophy of the Crown. It’s okay overall, but I prefer the outgoing Avalon’s design more.

Elderly people with a bit of money impacted the design philosophy of this Crown. Less effort for ingress/egress, hence the ride height.

Eco, Norm, and Sport all offer the same performance after half throttle for safety. It only changes the performance at initial throttle application. I was also under the assumption that Toyota has standard smart stop, which means it reacts when accelerator and brake pedals are applied together due to unintended acceleration issues back in the early 2010’s. Great work and happy thanksgiving.
