With all the tech and gimmicks in cars currently its nice to see a simple hot hatch that will most likely last well over 200,000kms. My biggest gripe is the price and that Toyota doesn't offer it in green😊. Great purchase decision and thank you for sharing your candid ownership experience.

Great review! As another GRC owner you are spot on with your assessment. The only difference I have experienced is the lack of rattling and it may literally be a dice roll for us owners on that. I've had a few, but they were ore so from items in glove box. I was even running an 85A rated Rear Pitch mount for about 10K miles, switched down to 70A. As you said, I love the car and its flaws, reminds me of the Evo STi golden era.

I'm disappointed to hear that a car built in the famed Motomachi plant by specially trained technicians is full of rattles and just "okay" fit and finish. For me the presumed improvement in build quality, on the already famously reliable Toyota Corolla, was a legit selling point. For that kind of money, in a new car, in a Toyota, I expect a rattle- and squeak-free interior. The more reviews of this thing I watch, the more I think...yeah, maybe not the dream car after all.
@Realistick10 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure they build most interior panels in a different location. Motomachi is only there for the platform/powertrain and final assembly of the car, idk if you've driven an old wrx sti, evo, or focus rs but it's pretty par for the course there. Any of them stuck on the interior? Lol. It’s a footnote If anything. It’s a drivers car pal. Through and through. It’s not a track weapon (although it could do an occasional romp). And it’s certainly not luxurious. What it truly is, one of the most fun, competent, engaging daily drivers out there. And you’d actually have to drive the piss out of one, or at the very least some decent wheel time w it, to know that. Again, reference anyone that has. And you repeatedly talking about the interior won’t change that. Lol. I’ll even go as far to say, these will be sought after in years to come. It’s truly a special car. And this is coming from a current VAG owner owner like yourself, albeit an R8.

It's a hot hatch. The price isn't going towards paying for an interior, it's paying for 300HP in a manual transmission with AWD and LSD. If interior is important at the 40k price point get a premium quattro A3. But that's losing 100HP, manual transmission, LSD, reliability, handling prowess, fun.... Everything has value, expecting to get free features doesn't make sense. Could pay more for the manual GolfR at 47k for similar performance with a better interior, but its better because more money was paid. The average new car price is 48k rn. Not a bad interior for a vehicle that's both more affordable and better performing than average.
