In this video I talk about how I maintain and preserve the 28 year old paint on my 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser. I also addressed and documented the rough/misfire issue I was having on the 1FZ-FE engine.

Toyota part# 19127-66020 - Packing dust proof gasket/seal. This part is the gasket/seal that goes between your distributor cap and distributor assembly.

I like the chop shop on the Acura gauge pod and gauge choices FW and TransTemp as an ODB1 solution… I have the same items on scan gauge, and if I didn’t already have the solution in place this would be a great solution… long winded, but respect on the job you made for a solution.

dont mind me asking what state you in ? dont forget to replace the dist. oring seal very important and the oil pump seal w/oil pump bolt which are a pain in the ass. nice rig by the way can I get some info on the hood vent looks good and functional didnt think about that and you should use that exhaust heat sheild from summit for thexhaust manifold sheild so the heat dont damage the air intake hose a pain to outsource nice rig you gotta love em

You just reminded me to add new distributor seals to my field maintenance kit. One of those details lost in the fog of part numbers. Also got me to thinking about what I want to do as far as suspension. Wondering if I should skip anything adjustable for the sake of simplicity. Although, the giant wrench is pretty handy too!

Doug I’ve been meaning to replace that distributor gasket for a while and never got around to it. Definitely a to do item. I’ve ordered up a few at 4 bucks a pop. As far as the control arms go the Metaltech control arms are way beefier than stock and the design allows for rock sliding which is a big plus. I’ve been hung up with the stock arms and is no fun at all. I’ve been thinking of adding red loctight to those jam nuts!

Nice that you got that issue sorted. I like that SolveFunction nipple protector you got too. What water temps do you find are normal when you are up to normal driving? I see that K&N filter lurking down there ;-). I usually buy a case of the Toyota filters from Amazon so they are always available when I need to change oil.

Yeah, I figured it had to do with water getting in somewhere cause it ran fine before the water crossing and that mechanical fan in water is like a propeller, Hehe! My normal operating temperatures are usually around 189~195•F. Yes K&N are typically good quality filters. I also buy mine off of amazon way cheaper that way.

would you put a plastic bag over the dizzy next time you cross water? Thoughts?

That’s actually a good idea. But I think the gasket in there is in bad shape which allowed for water to enter. Got some new gaskets on the way.
