That's a good one, I'd say the owner was relieved he had you looking at it and not someone who'd be less than honest 😊

I remember driving Nissan's pickups 10-15 years ago had the same solution with a button to increase the idle for cold weather to warm up the engine faster. And only gave higher idle if the shift gear and clutch were disengaged, so only if the car was stand still.

I have seen lots of that type of set up years ago, but to be honest I thought that kinda stuff was gone with years. Opting for electronically controlled set ups. It took me over an hour to figure this one out 😂😂😂😂

Sometimes the easiest of problems get the better of us. At least you went through his whole car & it has a clean bill of health. After all, it is a Toyota.

Those were my thoughts exactly, I couldn’t find anything wrong then low and behold it was a button press that was needed 🤷🏼♂️😂😂😂

It's a fast idle for warmup during winter. Don't know why it's fitted for UK and Ireland.

@@kennedysgarage3281 Long time ago I had a Nissan Navara as a company car. Had it from brand new so obviously I had to push every button it had (which weren't many) because of curiosity. With engine not running I couldn't understand what "heat" would mean since it was doing nothing. Later I figured out by accident of course ( never read the manual of course) 🤣. Nice option however during cold winter mornings.

@@alexdragomirescu5084 heated seats 🤔🤔
@alexdragomirescu50845 ай бұрын
@@kennedysgarage3281 no... it's a system made to heat up the engine faster / keep it warmer when you're standing still in very cold climates. It's a work truck at the end of the day. Sometimes those trucks take some serious abuse when you are on site. In Canada / Siberia I understand they don't even shut down the engine during night because of extreme low temperatures.

@@alexdragomirescu5084 wow, f_ck me. They just leave them running 24hrs. That’s mad, the temperature must be fair low for that. Wicked interesting though 🙏🙏
