Who cares if its 'Agricultural' it was designed & manufactured for commercial use initially, then Toyota saw the opportunity to expand its usability to suit serious off-road use. Good on them I say.

Great truck. Only 2 issues are, it needs a 6spd tranny with auto or manual choice. Secondly, the rear wheel track MUST match front track, it's VERY pricey to have that 1 issue fixed, around $8000.

Toyota (AISIN) makes great automatic boxes, so why not put one into these vehicles - 5-speed manual is really outdated, customers should be given the choice between six-speed manual or automatic!

Toyota failed to provide buyers with the safety rating of that vehicle by avoiding getting it tested at all, let's be honest here and not talk around the issue. By modern standards it's a death trap.

4x4 of the year !? you are taking the piss surely . Why dont you test the Iveco Daily 4x4 ? the cruiser is an 80k ute you still have to get out and adjust your mirrors , my 9 year old D Max has a button for that and they fold in too ! didnt mention anything about those useless clutches they use , 40k and finished .

@hartzland76586 жыл бұрын
The first branch that smacks your Dud max electronic mirror will have it hanging by the wires. All you pussy city boys don't get it do you!! Us country farmers don't want electric this & that!! We want to be able to stick our arm out & push our mirror back in place after that branch just wacked it!! We just want it as basic & strong as we can get & thats what we got in the 70 series. I certainly don't see any Dud maxs pulling out Landcruisers in the bush but i see plenty of Crusiers helping out all sorts of flash city utes!!
@hartzland76586 жыл бұрын
By the way on the clutch bullshit!! I have done 150,000 klm on the original clutch after pulling massive farm trailers loaded with bales through mud & its still going. It comes down to who's using the clutch for how long it lasts.

OMG! Another useless uninformative video on this overrated vehicle. sigh. No mention of the rear wheel track or the lack of stability and articulation. 4x4 Australia is a joke and is far too bias towards companies giving out the most $$ to be of any note worthy information... Same can be said for all the other main stream media publications. But 4x4 of the year? Yeah I'd supposed I'd have to agree, sadly there's no other "new" 4wd currently on the market that is better than the 79. Maybe Iveco Daily but that isn't classed as a passenger 4wd, so no point comparing. If you're all satisfied with this new 79 series then it must be very bad times for modern 4wds in general, there's just nothing else out there in the same category as the 79 anymore. 😔 Reality is that the 79 provides a good platform for aftermarket companies to improve/ fix some of its shortcomings, but you need serious dollars just to fix what Toyota should've done in the first place. Because of this, the vehicle can be called overrated! No argument people! Most just accept the brain washing marketing campaigns that Toyota dish up... Unbreakable, tough, ect ect.. Don't be fooled people! I'm not anti Toyota, I do know Toyota vehicles are one of the most reliable out there, heck I've owned 3 different Toyotas over many years and can honestly say that they were all very reliable. However I can say the same for other vehicles that I've owned too. It's just a shame that there's no other competition for the 79.. Which is really weird when you think about how popular 4wding, touring/overlanding has recently become.
@livenloud66976 жыл бұрын
Sadly i fully agree with you. 4grand to fix the tracking. Sux to be sitting in the back. Nothing like a 200. No auto... 200 has and its a great box . No tray standard. Only ac from the dash only. No 2nd fuel tank any more . After burner. Cant wait for that. Ill be 10min kids. Its burning off again.. Should i stop there....? But ..... Its a 70.. 76_78_79.. Know one dose them better... 😀 If you want it all. Well there is the 200..💪
