Cheers! I've made quite a bit more progress lately, so I'll have another update on this soon. 👍

Following closely. Nice job. I got same body and interior waiting for build time. Not sure how and where i put the battery. Back on the gargo area, mayby functional and opening tail door? What is it called in english😁
@rccrawlersmid-wales6454 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I've no doubt you'll do a far better job than me... look forward to seeing it! The tailgate, we call it, for some reason. The boot (or trunk, to Americans) is actually perfect for the battery, so yeah, if you made the tailgate open it'd be really easy to get to. 👍

GM. Hailing from the States here. I'm in the middle of my LC80 build and having issues with the interior being too big with my SCX10 iii chassis and the transmission being too big. Any chance you can post a video of how you build up the transmission to fit with the Axial parts?
@rccrawlersmid-wales6458 ай бұрын
Hi! I think I did already - update #1 involved the SSD gearbox I used instead of the stock Axial one. This is a 10.2 though. I thought the 10.3 had a front-mounted gearbox anyway? Or did that all change with the Basecamp version?

I have the same RCRUN LC80 shell. Did you have issues with the wheelbase? I saw somewhere that its meant for a 320mm wheelbase. On my scx10 i may have to extend the 313mm wheelbase or trim the flares/flairs
@rccrawlersmid-wales6453 жыл бұрын
Have you tried it on your scx10? This shell fitted my 313mm scx10 2 perfectly and definitely isn't 320mm. I did trim the arches, but only to fit my big tyres in.
@vcpornelos3 жыл бұрын
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 Ill have to double check again, but i may have to trim the rear portion of the front fender arches. Im doing it as a custom job on my rig with front and rear aluminum bumpers so im not using the stock rcrun bumper mounts. Good on you for using the interior. Quite pricey for me to justify getting a forward gearbox/motor combo.

@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 not sure if its availablr there in the UK bu theres a actually a scale replica of the LC80 chassis, engine cover and suspension by RCRUN that was intended for the bodyshell and interior. Its about 400-500 usd. Wheelbase is 319mm.
@rccrawlersmid-wales6453 жыл бұрын
@@vcpornelos Yeah, I've seen that and it looks great - just watched Bishop's RC Crusade doing a review of it, in fact. Curious about the wheelbase. As far as I could see, his shell sat with the front wheels just a tiny bit further forward in the arch. You can see how mine fits the 313mm Axial on the running videos (my most recent one is this truck, as it happens). Thanks for the info! 👍

I love this, Steve - how far you are going to get the scale look you want/need! It seems like a real mission, and I'm so glad the interior did indeed fit after changing the transmission! Well, after a bit of fettling, anyway. So many other builds focus on the "best performance" and "weight distribution" but here you clearly know what you want. Having said that, (haha I'm such a twit) with the motor, transmission and electronics now shifted forward, it should counteract the battery being located in the rear (somewhat). I don't really know what I'm talking about, I'll shut up now! PS. Don't want to come across as weird, but it would be great to be able to chat/pick your brains/etc. if I could contact you outside of YT - could you email me on the email address on my "about" page? I checked and you haven't set one up on yours. No probs if you'd rather not and no offence taken, dude! :))

I actually weighed each side because I thought it was unbalanced (it really was...), but now you mention it, I should have weighed it front to rear as well. With a battery in, obviously. It'd be interesting to see how it is - though it'll probably be quickly obvious once I get into the rocks! 😬🤣
