In this video we button up the last little things, so that we can finally try turning the engine over, and make sure our rebuilt oil pump is working.

Just checked for my own sanity and Sophie always sits on the left (your right) 😊

Hi matt, I had this issue after my rebuild, the light will go off! I gently blew some compressed air down the dip stick hole. That primed the pump for me! Keep up the great vids!

Ah, that’s a clever idea, unfortunately we don’t have a compressor at the moment, but we have found another solution 😊

Sophie I can relate to people missing my puns. Deeply saddening, my condolences.

You can take the cam cover off and see if oil is coming out the top of the motor while cranking, or loosen the oil pressure sensor and see if oil squirts out while cranking

Yeah, nice work you two. And guest what She’s wrong, he’s right. The lady is audience left, and the gent is audience right. Keep it up. ...And yeah, just start the dang thing, enough testing :)

Yay! Another one! Honestly- you’ve primed the thing fine, just plug everything back in and start it! 😁

Tempting as that is, because we rebuilt the oil pump, we really want to make sure it’s working before firing the engine up. Especially as there’s a good chance we did something wrong 😬

I haven’t looked back, but I think she is right about sitting on the right. Did I write that right. Ah, English. Don’t feel bad, mine hasn’t moved much in three years either. I challenge you to a slow race:-). Let’s see who’s will sit longer.
@EnginesandUnfinishedBusiness3 жыл бұрын
A slow race it is! Although second place is the best either of us can hope for, as project binky will take the gold

Glad you liked it! Can you get it anywhere in Australia? Hope you’re both well 😊

Misty turned over really well. Sounds like you have air in the oil pump or the sensor has gone.
@EnginesandUnfinishedBusiness3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it’s most likely air in the pump as we completely rebuilt it a while ago.

Did you check the oil level after doing the priming? If it has gone down, then you are moving oil into the system.

I did after filming all this, and somehow the level went up 😖
