I have a 1993 Toyota pickup 4 cilender. Engine was shaking a lot . It had a leaking injector. Mecanic Changed all 4 leak stopped. But it continued to shake. Clean ed throttle body.

Apparently mine just popped out out of nowhere, I have a rag in it for now. I thought the hissing sound came from the fuel pump. Ofc I couldn’t check the noise bc it would stall when I let off the gas. Thanks

I got that same hissing noise too. Ppl keep saying I have a vacuum leak, but did a smoke test and nothing from vacuum. Hopefully you get it fixed.

I switched the hose on the sensor and it stopped hissing. I guess when i removed the valve cover i accidently put them back wrong

that thing leaking or hissing on top of the valve cover is called a "vacuum switching valve" and is powered by the ECM and that truck has a hell of a vacuum leak i can here it bad !!

Yea the cap on that seams to be hissing. Cant find any other leaks

And that vacuum leak was probably the only thing wrong and anything else he has replaced already was unnecessary. Possible even the lines are mixed up. In a case like that I get a vacuum hose diagram and start putting everything where it goes and then do a smoke test and see if there's even a leak

I think that's a normal vacuum switch sound. It's got to do with egr or reed value system air injection systems. emissions.

Nope, If it's hissing that means you have the tubes in the opposite vacuum line. My VSV does not hiss at all and functions properly.

So when you had the old one in. Was it screwed all the way in am dodmt chamge anything

@@Pdrofer235 It mean the air flow sensor is not work properly,disconneted it has to show down.i have 1985 toyota celica gts and did have the same issue and i have to replaced,also i have to reconfigure the tps,both are in the same network.
