Excellent video. No one should shy away because of the lower ball joints - just need to regularly check. We didn't get the diesel for a few years later here in Australia. Happy travels!

Thanks for the comment! I agree, I check my LBJ's regularly and I will only use OEM parts. These Prado's are awesome value for money. Cheers from ZA

my prado had the same issue with the heater control. if you get some help you can pop the hood and get them to look at the back of the engine in the middle of the car above the fire wall in the engine bay while you twist your heater knob they should see the cable move and see where it gets stuck than its as simple as freeing it up.

ball joints are really the ones to look out for ....

I agree! I forgot to mention the tacho solder joints that crack... mine is not working properly and I see a whole lot of posts of similar issues

How much are the original ball joints from Toyota, i have a 90 series due for a change
@GreaseAndGravel2 ай бұрын
@@dimphokgosiemang4183 I have no idea. Mine was replaced just before I bought it two and a half years ago. I can't find the invoice now. It is worth it to use Toyota parts for this one.

it's the heater control valve that has seized mine did the same thing

Thanks for letting me know. It seems like all the minor issues are fairly common. Luckily, the only serious one is the lower ball joint (and only if you don't inspect it and use inferior parts)
