Dziękuję Tomasz, you are the real MVP! Very useful test. Toyota really outdid themselves with the new Prius. It remains the most efficient car on the market and probably more ecological than any electric, taking everything into account. And to top it all off, it’s pretty and quite fast. I would probably buy one if it wasn’t for the small storage capacity.

Thus, smaller wheels are a better option than solar roof. :D I don't understand this trend with bigger and bigger wheels especially for cars that are designed to be economical.

Thanks Tomasz, another detailed and scientific test (I watched just today), good job with video edit - it must have been a lot of work to tune the video speed (I see it is variable) and sync with all the onscreen titles!

I am confused about the range. The gasoline tank has 40 liter capacity and yet the max range prediction didn't went higher than 660 to 700km. If a consumption of under 3 liter, it should have a range of 1200km and more.
@1001cars
@1001cars Жыл бұрын
Because this is only calculation? It would be meaningless to show estimated range based on ~30 km trip. Usually it takes much longer distance which usually includes highway driving.

@@1001cars I know but the cars I used to drive at least include the tendency of the recent 50km in their range prediction. If I fill up the tank and the computer tells me an estimated range of 900km, based on a 6L/100km avarage consumption since the last fill up and then I do 50km trip with an avarage consumption of 4L/100km, the range will not just jump to like 1200/1300 km it will go up a little (like to 980-1000) instead of losing that 50km driven range. So by the experience those predixtions were made by long term usage, but influenced by the recent trends which is not happening here but hey, the Prius might be first Toyota so who maybe I learn new things.

@@1001cars After a 21 month wait our 2024 Prime arrived. Our third Prius but first Prime. To date, our best range in EV was 91Km, though there was still 6% SOC left. The car would have hit 100Km. A few days ago after an overnight charge the computer estimated a 98Km range. Note: to achieve such a range, you must turn off as many electrical loads as possible. So, no heat or AC, etc.

@@1001cars I agree. But in our local terrain there are numerous hills. To take my wife to her post retirement job we have to descend a 500' hill and, then climb back up. No level roadways around here. It's all up and down, like a dogs stomach. Best Prius we've ever owned, by far.

O, super test. Pozdro ;)
@kaminskydj
@kaminskydj Жыл бұрын

@1001cars The tell tale sign is the ambient light strip on the dash. The regular hybrid is blue, and the PHEV/Prime is red. That is true no matter where you get it. The video shows a blue ambient light strip. The dash shown is a regular hybrid. You can check a number of videos on YT and you can see for yourself. I have a 2023 Prius Prine and the color is red.
