2010, great rig , built very solid , back mounted spare, wide interior, used it as my work vehicle, literally working out of it , solid

Best suv ever made, the window has closed on this built quality. No electronics or bells and whistles, the cockroach of vehicles.

I'm looking at a 2009 Rav 4. Can you tell me if they are comfortable on a long drive?
@canadiansk8 Жыл бұрын
@heathergravel5785 i bought coverado seat covers that have built in lumbar, extra padding, and bolstering that made it very comfortable on long drives. i made 18 hr drives with no discomofort. I strongly recommend them.

Is the 2.2 diesel a good engine and does it have any serious problems? What should we look for when we are buying it?
@davidwayne998210 ай бұрын
They ARE the best of all-- but NOT the 06, they have electrical issues and more.... the ABSOLUTE best of these- 07 to 2012 ONLY... V-6, REAL trans, simple- bullet-proof!!!
@Firlefranzz9 ай бұрын
Is that true? I got an offer to buy a 2006 model. You wouldn’t recommend?
@davidwayne99829 ай бұрын
@@FirlefranzzTHAT was the new V-6 year but with the new design came electrical issues-- there weren't that many--- but just to be safe- I look for 07 to 2012... What i'd recommend in that case- is get a AAA bumper to bumper inspection-- it would cost you about $100 but they check EVERYTHING- every electrical part- every connection- wiring harneses and everything mechanical as well and give you a very detailed report. You KNOW it's accurate because they are NOT allowed to do the repairs!!! They make their money by the report ONLY- and licensed under AAA which is VERY strict... THat way you'd know if anything needed "fixing"..

...I am a bit confused about the statements on diesel engines. I have a third gen Rav4 from 2007 with the 2.2 dcat that has 177hp. That's actually the most common one here in Germany
@albibushi3006 Жыл бұрын
I own one in 2023. Pros: 1. Versitile, agile 2. Robust and punchy in highway, even with 5 people on board 3. Surprisingly responsive in city traffic. 4. Good air conditioning/ Clima Cons: 1. Fuel economy might be very expensive for people who don’t want to spend a lot. 2. Oil consumption or leakage. Seems a frequent issue among used rav4s. I got mine fixed for a minimum of 65, yes only sixty-five euro service. 3. It is dull and boring both exterior and interior but it’s made for practical use and it is practical. Mine has 260,000 km. 4. The driver window button is nerve wrenching. Bottomline: if your Company covers fuel bills, it is sth to consider. Otherwise, if you are on a tight budget, i think better to look for another more fuel efficient suv or another category of cars like Mpvs or sedans. Tip: some brands have bad reputation for bad quality interiors and failing electronics, air conditioners like some german brand i need not even mention.

I don’t understand why you think its fuel economy is so bad. It seems above average for its segment

Surely you have the 2.0 vvti if fuel economy is bad?
@albibushi30068 ай бұрын
@@Krith220 It's 2.2 diesel. it'S NOT that it's bad as for an SUV, probably very good. it's just that my perspective is that of an low wage employee from the Balkans. I find it very reliable but i cannot compare it to another SUV since i have not had any other car than a VW Touran with a 1.9 Tdi engine. That's my viewpoint in this comment section.

@@albibushi3006 in the review they mention 48 mpg which is under 5l/100km which is very good... now i doubt thats the consumption in the real world but even 6-7l/100km would be good in my opinion. How much does yours drink?
