Im still not a fan of turbos. Historically the Tacoma was simple, durable and reliable lasting hundreds of thousands of miles. Now who knows. Current issue to me seem like drive line under engineering that cant handle all the extra torque. The turbo problems will come later most likely.

Yeah sucks we don’t Own the company lol..

Since when did turbos get such a bad wrap? Some of the most reliable engines have had turbos. This engine also has an electric pump to continue to feed oil to the turbo after the engine is off to prevent overheating. This engine has also been in a few other Lexus vehicles for a few years. But I guess people want to forget Toyota’s 4cyl engines being some of the most reliable engines of all time.

@ your wasting your time bruh. Lol let them keep asking for that v6 slug engine.. so far I’m loving my turbo4 midsize truck. No issues whatsoever . Night n day diff from the third gen. 👍🏼

Power tailgate would be cool if you had the option to do it manually without having to fight the motor. That would drive me crazy having to press the button/beeping sounds/wait for motor every time I want to use the tailgate. I like how you guys tested a few different scenarios haha. I prefer the “old school” tailgate simplicity.
@4WDisLife3 ай бұрын
I am with you on this one, it would be perfect if it has a "disable" function to let off of the motor so the tailgate can be dropped freely.

deeper bed and more space between the wheel wells is good. Glad they brought back the extra cubby on the left bed panel as well, while moving the inverter higher up on the right side so they could make that cubby bigger too. Overall still a familiar tacoma bed while adding useful improvements.

The only feature that i like on the 4th gen are the rear disc brakes.compare to my 3rd 2023 Sport

Power tailgate has to be one of the most retarded parts of the new tacoma. Less space in the bed although marginal, less space in the rear seats is significant, turbo engine instead or naturally aspirated. You get less truck for a higher price. The comparison between 3rd gen and 4th gen isn't even close.

Pull out the original stickers. A couple inches here and there add up to a $10k price increase most likely......if not more.
@4WDisLife3 ай бұрын
Probably more than 10k in price difference, personally I still prefer my 3rd gen taco, however, the new ones with a lot more comfort features and upgrades sure feels nice for now, longevity is still a question, time will tell. I am also making a comparison of the seating space between the two.

Yes good video. I have a 2022 Tacoma that I'll be keeping for a very long time. I like these kinds of videos. Reminds me of why I don't want the new one. Turbo is a no go for me. They do look nice though. Maybe down the road when they hammer out the problems and I see a few break 150k-200k miles but I doubt it'll happen in these new ones.

@@rndsommer40 from what I have seen and heard (couple friends are lexus mechanics), the new 2.4T is surprisingly good in terms of not seeing them for repairs in the shop, not the same story with the 3.5tt tho. Also, seems TOYOTA/LEXUS has been having a hell lot of problems involving "debris", I wonder why always blame "debris" lol

I’ll give it a few years for Toyota to work out the kinks through several recalls first …

Not exactly since the new gen doesn’t have the wheel well up in the way from the very front of the bed

The depth might have been improved but what is not mentioned is the sacrifice of spare tire size and clearance. The spare on the 4th gen is not full size and hangs down lower.
@4WDisLife3 ай бұрын
that is a good point, I have not checked the spare tire size, let me confirm.

The ‘higher end’ models DO have a full size spare! My ORP hybrid has a full size. ( Exact same as the other four)
