Luis I'm very gratefull for this video. I figure out that if you read key with CARPROG it give you RAW data from key and you have to swap it. CARPROG read in my case 2C BE F3 05 and you have to swap it to 05 F3 BE 2C BECAUSE I read it with VVDI2 and that swaped bytes for you already! I write swaped (from VVDI2) data to eeprom and everything works. Thank you again Cheers from Czech Republic 😄

Good job! this can be done in many toyotas with 4c chips, ford also. vw with id48 (also if have precode) fiat, etc. a few tips i learn: always read the eeprom in both, 8bit and 16bits, toyota dumps are very sensible to this. also this change the way to put the tiris data in the dump, sometimes you need to swap the tiris bytes backwards. also, you can use a glass 4c chip like that who are in old ford tibbie key (fiesta, escort etc) Are a very good free mod soft for chinese zedbull called EFFI, have many modules more and have the option of add the key in the dump automatically. i hope i give back some of all you teach me, thanks for your job and the calm way you have to explain things. greetings from Argentina

Hey Luis you said if you deconnect the ecu and the scanner don't connect with the immobilizer that's mean the immobilizer is in the ecu what if one of the resistor of the can bus is in the ecu even if the immobilizer is not in the ecu it will not connect with the scanner am I right?
@LMAutoRepairs6 жыл бұрын
Hi I am not sure if I got your question right... but... Some cars have like more than one system in the same module... Like for example the PCM or engine module and the immobilizer which is part of the same phisical module. Now, it all depends on the systems... in this case, the communication line used to access the PCM and the immo is the same... but you can have different communication lines for different systems... Don't know if makes sense... sorry... Thank you for watching!
@hamham45476 жыл бұрын
What I mean you want to know if the immobilizer is in the ecu or in a separate box by unplugging the ecu and checking if the the scan tool can connect or not to the immobilizer. I'm asking we know that can bus have 2 ending resistor if one of that resistor is in the ecu and if we umplugged all module in that can bus don't connect to the scan tool?

Hello Luis, I keep watching your useful videos but I have a little complain. You do not mention how do you find the location of the eeprom on the board. I have seen ImmoUnivDecoder, ImmoKiller, NYO4, CarLabImmo , but they give little info for that.Also in many cases the label is erased from the surface of the chip.Can you tell us for example how did you found the eeprom location for this Yaris spesifically ? Thanks
@LMAutoRepairs6 жыл бұрын
Hi In this case couldn't be easier... was written in the chip... Atmel 25040... Experience will start to help you identify eeproms just by looking at what is written on them... Experience, will also start to help you identify them based on the components around... Thank you for watching!

I have read the HEX code from my yaris 2009 and from my new key. I did input the code into the eeprom chip but I think I changed the wrong numbers since it still wont start. Any idea how I find out which numbers are the correct ones to change? There is 3 clusters of 7 bits which each repeat once. My new key only has 6 bits so I changed all of the 7 bit clusters with the new 6 bit cluster from my new key. This has not worked. Appart from the repeating clusters there is one of 4 bits which does not repeat.

Shit. You know i saw one of these old mk1's that was a no crank after an engine replacement. The wiring loom had been spliced and chopped just like that. The original engine had blown up and they had put a used engine in which was from a French built one in a Japanese built one. There are a fair few differences between the cars in terms of wiring and the rotor wheel on the crank which the crank sensor uses is different and the air gap for the trigger notches on the cam sensor is different. But the Jap and French ECU's are also wired differently... I actually managed to get it running. Although i pity the next person who has to work on it.
