First of your videos I've seen, I'm subscribing. You were thorough and well-paced... As a bonus, you avoided all of the unnecessary droning, tangential commentary, and self-promotive arrogance that too often exists and just bogs down, if it doesn't outright displace, the otherwise similarly informative content of far too many of your KZbin peers... Thanks for communicating in an accessible, linear way... I wish more of your KZbin-mechanic peers would adopt similar approaches, but either way many thanks, much appreciation

@@jaimedelrosario593 I unscrewed the V-belt tensioner bolt, then unscrewed the 2 small nuts that hold the chain tensioner. This is because the V-belt tensioner prevents the chain tensioner from coming out (at least on the 2ZZ-GE)

Hello, your instructions were very, very clear! However, I am not at all experienced in doing repairs or replacements myself, and would rather have an expert do it. What kind of price should I expect to pay to have the timing chain tensioner replaced...? The Toyota dealership I've been going to for services since my 2006 Corolla was purchased quoted me $1,600. Which seems exorbitant to me for something that appears to be a 2-3 hour job maximum, and a part that costs about $20-30.

I have an '05 Corolla XRS w/ 2ZZ motor. Have developed the oil leak. Dealer is saying 7-8 hrs to do this job because they have to take all the ancillaries off the front end of motor to get the timing cover off to change the tensioner. $900-$1000 & $45 for tensioner. Is this really such a simple, quick job? Assuming I can get access to see what the heck I am doing. And assuming I can get the serpentine tensioner bolt broken loose & the tensioner moved clear. Does the tensioner bolt into the block or the head? Trying to figure out where I need to look. Thank you
