I actually think it would be good idea for Toyota to create there own adapter specifically for their older vehicles it would really help with showing some love to the older cars out there.

Hi, there! You can toggle between the vehicle's main menu and Apple Car Play in a couple of ways. The Toyota logo app symbol displays the main multimedia system screen. To display the Apple CarPlay home screen again, touch the Apple CarPlay symbol on the top left of the list icons from the main menu. You can also switch the screen display by touching the bottom icon on the left side of the list. My EMF meter reads very high in my new Toyota, I guess it is all the 3G / telematics , is it possible to disable all this stuff? Can I ask the dealer to do it? I don't want to drive this vehicle currently due to the RF radiation. I am back driving my old car which has none of this stuff. If you insist on all this tech, why not at the very least fit the antenna away from the occupants , maybe on the outside of the car on the roof or back of car etc.

If your vehicle didn't come with it already, I really don't think it can be upgraded purely by software. It's possible that this feature requires more powerful hardware, so your entire head unit will need to be replaced with one that's capable of the feature. I hope you can find an aftermarket solution!! I know I would look for one.

You can easily bring your own music in MP3 files stored in a USB thumb drive and leave it in the car. Some systems also include a CD slot so you could also burn a DVD full of mp3 songs and just leave inserted in the car. (CD drive might be hidden behind screen in newer models, and would have to be opened through settings. It's possible your unit doesn't have CD drive at all, in which case a USB drive is the way to go.). Other than that, you also have the good old "FM/AM radio" 😄 so if you're the kind that may forget your phone, just prepare your car to always have a backup drive full of music! I just cannot leave the house without my phone in my hand, so the most likely thing I might forget is the USB cable 😆

I am living in north America and here is to much snow, Now imaginate you take a trip in the night and begin to snow and right now Your car stop it can bee several case 1 ) the toyota (want to force to make the inscription ) 2) th dealer can send messages to car to stop ( looking for work) 3) a haker ( for a racon to pay some money) 4) dierent case -In conclusion don't You control the car (can start , stop remotely) still it found You somebody You or Your family can froze in the snow . The car Is not bad ,but if you want to buy -- ----It is very noisy ---- high risk too accident -- hight risk to bee hacked or stolen --- it make the phone wery hot I bought the car with $36000.00 and not me control the car ( toyota can STAR and STOP when it want)

My 2018 Highlander had everything available from the get go, and there was no need for registration, downloads , fees.
