Күн бұрын

This is the first part in a major restoration of a vintage Action Force / G.I.Joe Killer W.H.A.L.E Hovercraft by Hasbro / Palitoy. This toy has so many areas that are easy to break or loose and I plan to get the whole thing up and running.
In this first video I take it apart and clean it, make some new wheels, and repair both sets of hinges to the front door and ramp.

this restoration is one I bet will be considered one of the most viewed for GI Joe/Action Force collectors, much like your Mirage repair was for Transformers collectors, one day you should do a restoration on G1 Wheeljack, since there is a lot of parts that get lost for that

I attempted to take apart my night striker, but accidentally pulled the launch mechanism out, then the spring popped out. I cannot figure out how to remove the launch cover without breaking the tab that connects to the bottom section. It covers and holds the launch mechanism under it. Do you know how to open up the launch mechanism. I am afraid that I may snap the post off. All of this led to the sled door snapping off as well. Any help, or schematic, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

One thing I've done when trying to get back the sheen of old plastic toys that look dull is to use Armor All on a small sponge or towel and go over the whole toy...it really brings back the luster and makes it pop...also something you can use to get rid of sticky sticker residue is to use a damp Magic Eraser...they work very well for plastic toys like this.

Would you by any chance have any extra killer whale pieces that you'd consider parting with? At this point my childhood one is nearly complete I think I'm short for pieces maybe five I got a second one with a shell that is in excellent condition and I've been slowly piecing it back together originally I used most of the pieces off of it online from when I was a kid and I've been back and forth working on the pair of them getting a piece here and a piece there when I buy mixed box lots of GI Joe parts. I had about 12 boxes that I sorted through about 6 months ago some of those boxes I had for six and seven years and hadn't gotten around to sorted everything out into life for Rubbermaid containers and you'd be surprised how many pieces were there for the killer whale in between those boxes where I kept getting stuff at yard sales knowing it was something GI Joe related and kept putting each little piece and one of the boxes and the corner of the back room and stuff just kept piling up. I only recently got into position to start putting up tables and shelves add rebuilding Vehicles figures playsets and so on I had nearly everything from when I was a kid where I let go of almost none of it And the stops been kind of getting added to over the last 20 years or so. Been kind of ADD where I constantly get things connected to GI Joe in boxes of toys people throughout or at yard sales for like a dollar and fifty cents. I started intermittently buying stuff on eBay over the last two or three years generally I get stuff where people list it wrong and I get it for almost nothing I generally don't pay a lot because people are really ridiculous about what they list things for. I'll get a vehicle that was listed at an opening bid of $0.99 and end up paying like $12 whereas the same vehicle missing more pieces will be in several listings between $30 and $200 or I'll buy a box lot of eight or nine vehicles for $30 that are missing pieces as another example. The whale that has a good shell I paid $20 for and you don't want to know how many pieces were with it including the GI Joe figure that came with it.

@@toypolloi I'm what would be considered a technology caveman. It turns out I've had messages from KZbin piling up at my Microsoft account that I didn't know about for almost 2 years I only ever made that account for where are you have to have a Microsoft account when you're using a cell phone or tablets or they basically won't let you even turn the damn thing on. I'll try to figure out how to send you a direct message about three months ago I ended up with a mother hovercraft LOL. So now I've got one nearly finished and two missing a assortment of pieces that's not counting the fact I'm slowly rebuilding this is going to make you pull your hair out around 50 or 75 g.I. Joe vehicles and a few playsets and I have a big graveyard of figures that I've been rebuilding a piece at a time LOL. I quite frequently get Jose with a broken crotch or broken arm or broken leg or the lower half missing top of the head chopped off you name it. I started buying those plastic sorting containers from the dollar store and I sorted all the body parts out and every so often I end up rebuilding another figure. I when I can try to use the original parts but in a lot of cases I mostly just colour match. I've got several fat troops that don't necessarily have the original arm or crotch or legs in some cases it's Parts off of the newer versions. Likewise I've got a shoe box of quite a few 1960s GI Joes that I've got to get around to I buy and sell 1960s GI Joe stuff and I've randomly ended up with several Joe's that are an insanely bad condition at some point I've got to go on eBay and track down body parts one of them somebody painted the head like a homeless man clown from the 1960s and I don't know if I can get the paint off and save the head or not lol. Likewise I've got a container of 1980s g.I. Joe body parts somebody's kid painted with modelling paint that I've got to see if I can clean the paint off or if they're only going to be useful if I paint them to match other figures.

Hello again! I tried to ask you earlier today but it looks like the last video you posted was removed. I was just curious if you might know of a good paint to touch up eyebrows, gauntlets, or hair with on G.I. Joe type figures. I have some old Mortal Kombat figures that need a little touching up and was hoping to get your professional opinion on what to use. They aren't too bad off, just a little touching up I think is all they need; but what I'm looking for is something durable like what was used originally. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
