We were expecting to have 10~14 hours of steady 15mph winds with gusts reaching close to 50mph at times...didn't quite last that long at ground level but it was an good opportunity to document a fell day's production when the wind is being cooperative!
iSta Breeze Heli 2.0 (worth investing in the bigger blades, though): www.ebay.com/itm/164015411182
iSta Breeze i1500: www.ebay.com/itm/153174401757
Missouri Freedom: windandsolar.com/raptor-g4-7-...
Washing Machine Turbine: you have to make it yourself :D but I have instructions on my channel!

Finally a real test for the Missouri turbine. The Missouri costs about the same as the I-1500 but the I-1500 produces more than 10 times the energy

Hello, I think you're misunderstanding, or confusing w/h - kw/h with kw. (at the least when speaking, and what you edited on the video screen). What you are measuring is the total output ( KW ), not KW/H. Kw/h is the measurement of electricity output per time. The total amount is just KW (electricity that can be stored). By the way, great video and inspiring setup! I've watched like 20 of your videos already! Amazing!

Thanks for sharing, it's very useful. I have 2 questions, how many watts do you get on Heli when low wind 7 to 10 mph? and how many hours it takes to charge 20% of 4 GEL battries 48V (4 X 12V - 225AH) at low wind (7-10 mph)?

I was analyzing recently the use of voltage booster controller and comparison with bridge rectifiers. One important thing I noticed is that blade design matters a lot and rpm at 10m/s . For example in your situation if blades are not designed to reach enough rpm at a specific wind speed, but your blades can produce enough power at lower RPM because that are torque blades this will be not producing frequently because you can’t reach 60V (considering voltage drops from rectifier and wires) and you can’t produce as much every as you can with MPPT voltage booster or in my case I can produce a lot more with 5 point rpm/amps curve from booster. You can get 10 amps boosted voltage in this situation and at 60V this is 600w and with rectifiers you can not get anything. Can you analyze this case and search for best solution ?

Another great update. Thanks to your videos I brought an i1500 that I just got on a pole but I run it on five blades and I think I will change to three blades. It’s an 48v version and I feel like it don’t reaches the rpm to produce power that often. What are you’re experience? Thanks for a great channel👍🏻

What do you have it hooked up to and how much wind are you getting? Three blades will definitely see a higher RPM...five blades can harness a little more wind and start earlier but will put a serious hit on maximum RPM and the i1500 needs a lot of RPM.
@elvisasaftei
@elvisasaftei 2 жыл бұрын
With a 10A voltage booster and 5 point power curve you can harnesses energy at any rpm gradually according to your blade design. What do you think ?

The Heli 2.0 made more power than all the rest combined but the i1500 was cheaper per watt.

Can you do a basic video on how these would work on just a basic set up. Like turbine charge controller to battery. I've been strictly 100% on solar for 3 years now, and it's not like everyone says online. I'm worried wind power will be a big hoax since everyone is saying they are making reactor numbers haha

Hey! thanks for very interesting and learning movies. I'm going to buy a wind turbine. Thinking of i1500 or i2000 has an average wind of about 5m / s. I'm interested in a 5 wings. Is the i2000 more difficult to start in low wind than the i1500? do you think it is an advantage with 5 wings if you have a fairly low average wind.
@ToysforWatts
@ToysforWatts 2 жыл бұрын
If that's your actual average wind speed then you don't have anything to worry about. I live in an excellent place for wind and still our average wind speed is only 5.5m/s. Either way, the 3 blade i1500 starts up just fine even in low wind. The i2000 will only have slightly more drag starting up. Even if wind was a concern I would strongly advise trying with three blades first and only going "up" if the turbine struggles.

@@ToysforWatts Thanks for the reply! As I understand it, the turbine starts earlier with 5 wings, but it has a lower rpm and may not reach maximum power. even tail on wind turbines might need to be larger so it holds up better if you use 5 wings? are there performance cards on 5 wings for the i1500?

I would love to get into adding wind turbines to my home setup. If I pickup the Heli 2.0, where would I find the bigger blades you referenced ? And how high did you mount yours ? I have to figure out type of pole and length. :-) Thanks for sharing this !
@ToysforWatts
@ToysforWatts 2 жыл бұрын
You have to contact ista breeze directly for pricing on the upgraded blade arrangement. If you can get the turbine high enough the five-blade arrangement it comes with standard might be sufficient...in my area if I could get it up 60ft it'd have worked great, but I can't mount anything higher than 40ft. I have it mounted on top of an old windmill tower.

@@ToysforWatts thanks ! So the blade upgrade is bigger blades and only three vs the original five, correct ? Just want to make sure I ask for the right build. Thanks again

Correct! The new blades have a much larger swept area (nearly twice the surface area) and yes only three blades.

Can you please add in the video description the blades you used on Heli2.0 compared with standard blades to compute surface area ?
@ToysforWatts
@ToysforWatts 2 жыл бұрын
The Heli comes standard with five 107cm blades and the swept area is roughly 3.9 square meters. The new setup has three 125cm blades and the swept area is roughly 4.9 square meters.
@elvisasaftei

@@ToysforWatts seems you did a good thing with the blades because it automatically tilts you won’t have any problems with breaking it in high winds. If the counter weight it the one for standard blades than it must be computed proportional with the blades surface area, right ? If you increase the surface area and drag with 1/3 than same difference or a little less must be added to the courier weight, right ?
@elvisasaftei
@elvisasaftei 2 жыл бұрын
@@ToysforWatts so you got almost 25% more surface area with this upgrade, protected rotor with tilting for very high winds, seems a very good choice to me with the upgrade. Heli 2.0 is a nice one, a lot more expensive so for the price per dollar probably we can buy 3 x i2000 with the same money we will spend on heli 2.0 , and produce 2 times more energy maybe ?
@elvisasaftei

It seems that i1500 has absolutely the best power per price you pay… what do you think about i2000 that is very similar to i1500 and just a little more expensive ?
@ToysforWatts
@ToysforWatts 2 жыл бұрын
I think the i1500 is easily the best watt per dollar you can get in a manufactured turbine. The only turbines I've had a better return on are the ones I made myself...and it wasn't by a great margin. The i2000 is just like the i1500...it's just got a little bit more magnet and copper in it. If I had to buy a turbine today I would probably go for the i2000 just to see how it performs in comparison to the i1500.
@elvisasaftei

@@ToysforWatts yes, that is what I was thinking at too, price is similar and their output from specs shows a lot more power for i2000
