Wow love this video, great overlay as well! Seeing the Tyres at the end made me really rethink ever brining my b9 s5 to a track. I have no desire nor knowledge to replace brakes rotors and new Tyres so quick haha! But hey it's sure gotta be a blast! I had fun watching 😊

Hey Steven - happy to have met you and said hi at Sonoma that day (it's me! at 7:14!). I'll be installing my iSWEEP IS2000s this weekend, and evaluating them in the next few months. I'll try to let you know if they don't suck
@stevenstrackdays26873 жыл бұрын
Nice to meet you! I didn't hear iSWEEP. Just searched, and looked like IS3500 and + are for tracks?
@TheGreenS4Channel3 жыл бұрын
@@stevenstrackdays2687 Yeah, I decided to take a little bit of a gamble. I had the Ferodo DS2500 on my GTI and the pad was perfect for street and track. I looked at the brake graph of temp vs friction for IS2000 and it was pretty similar and wanted to see if it could work as a dual-use pad. If it sucks on track I will just bite the bullet and get the IS3000/3500 for track only pad.

Nice job. I experienced the same thing with my last set of PS4S, they chunk pretty hard and it's recommended to go higher pressure (opposite of what most people do at the track) to protect the sidewall.

I am curious if you have any more update on your brake setup? Any new update from the date you did this video till now? I am also plan to upgrade pad/rotor for my 2018 S4. I already purchased EBC Blue front but like to hear how ECS 2-piece rotor holding up.
@Mclyincanada2 жыл бұрын
Also the tires, how is A052 holding up for you?
@stevenstrackdays26872 жыл бұрын
@@Mclyincanada EBC blue are really bad on track (as bad as yellow). Return them... ESC rotors are good. No issues. No bending or overheating impacts. The A052 worked well, better than ps4s, but were too expensive considering the tread depths (only). Also check my last video of Thunderhill on 5/9/2021.
@Mclyincanada2 жыл бұрын
@@stevenstrackdays2687 Thank you Steven. Unfortunately EBC Blue is not returnable even unused. Are you running Carbotech X10 for both front and back? Also, like to ask you how many track days have you been running with ECS rotors? Trying to debate between 034 and ECS, 034 does sell replacement rotors only as oppose to ECS they only sell new set.
@stevenstrackdays26872 жыл бұрын
Sorry blue cannot be returned. I think they can still be used as street pads. I'm using yellow as street pads, but I will probably pick another brand later. I used carbotech for both front and rear. I think it's good to use EBC blue for rear ones. I haven't measured the rotor thickness since my last track day. I don't really worry about the thickness. I think when I bought ESC rotors, the 034 rotors weren't available. My rotors are not true floating so they are much cheaper. I asked ESC if I can get only rings. They don't sell, but they can provide a discount for the new sets.

My ‘18 S4 I played with tire pressures and ended up at 43 cold to keep the edges from rolling over. It felt much better and had a lot more grip than even at 40 cold. A few questions, how do you like the blue stuff pads vs the yellow for track? The yellows were not enough for me, and I smoked them pretty bad. Also curious on your camera setup and how you’re doing the overlay with data? Thanks and keep up the great vids!
@stevenstrackdays26873 жыл бұрын
The max inflation pressure on the tires is 50 psi. When the cold is 43, the hot pressure may become 10 more like 53. I'm not sure whether it's a big concern but don't want to take the risk. Yellow staff are really bad for track (but ok for beginners). Check my last Laguna Seca video... Blue staff didn't match my expectation, as you see that it got cracks. I got Carbotech xp10 pads for my next track day, and will report back later. I put one camera under windshield, and one under sunroof. I even put one audio recorder near engine and another near exhaust. PowerDirector 365 does a great job to sync them by audio. Overlay data comes from TrackAddict app, an OBD2 Bluetooth receiver, and a 10-hz Bluetooth GPS. Overlay is painted by RaceRender 3. Final edits are in PowerDirector 365 or Premiere Pro.

@@stevenstrackdays2687 I’ve been seeing about 5-7psi increases coming off track after 20 minute sessions, so I haven’t been worried about it. 50psi is max cold rating, so it shouldn’t be a problem to exceed for short times. I’ve been looking at carbotech, those or isweep is3000 will probably be my next step. Also going to do the 034 Motorsport upper control arms to bring front camber in to prevent that tire roll.

Good for 1st and 2nd day on track. If you push brake to the limit all the time, a brand new brake pad will be used up in 40 minutes. So, just brake heavily at most once per circle. Later, you need racing brake pads like carbotech.
