Hey, could you please upload how you jack up the car onto 4 jack stands? There is no videos on this yet. Thank you!
@stevenstrackdays26872 жыл бұрын
It's very tricky. Front: use the large bolt for floor jack photos.app.goo.gl/nCKsWYmt6fEQCfrP9 Rear: Use a thin jack stand so that the floor jack and the jack stand can fit the metal park together. Other ways: Rennstand, quickjack, or car ramp + bottle jack.
@stevenstrackdays26872 жыл бұрын
Update: Use a floor jack (high lift) at the front jack point, and get both front and rear wheels off ground. Then put a jack stand at the rear point. Release front. Lift the floor jack at the bolt point, and put a jack stand at the front jack point

@@stevenstrackdays2687 ohhh okay! Also I would so recommend a rear sway bar for the s4. I put one on my 2021 a4 for autocross and it changed the car.

Thank you! I'll look into it.

Awesome videos Steven, not much B9 track stuff on YT. How are you liking the Carbotech XP-10s? I will be attending my first track day in my B9 RS5 in a few months. I have done two previous track days over 5 years ago with much lower HP vehicles, so I'm sure I'll be pretty novice this time round. Do you switch between stock rotors/pads and your ECS rotors/Carbotechs every track day? Do you drive to the track with the track setup?
@stevenstrackdays2687 Жыл бұрын
Glad to see more Audi on track! Carbotech pads are great. Yes, I usually switch to ECS & Carbotech before track days. But I did use them for street for a month when I was too busy/lazy to switch back. The weather in SF Bay area is warm and no-rain so I don't have safety concerns when driving with race pads. The Carbotech pads are super noisy. You don't need race pads for the first one or two track days, because you are getting familiar with the track and shouldn't push your car to limits. RS has even larger rotors than S. It does consume stock pads fast, though. When I brake very hard, the stock pads can hold 2 - 3 sessions (each session is 20 minutes). The carbotech can hold 8 - 10 sessions.

Thanks for the response! Ok I will likely stick with the OEM braking setup will just flush with rbf600 fluid. Do you think 7mm of brake pad will be enough? Will be 4x15-20mm sessions at Area 27 (Oliver, BC, Canada)
@stevenstrackdays2687 Жыл бұрын
Stock brake fluid is dot 4 so ok too. 7mm is very good. Both front sides should have brake sensors in RS (but only one side in S). Even if a sensor triggers, you can still brake for many street miles to get you home and to auto shop.

Try Bridgestone re71rs tire, you will love it.

hello steven! Miss your videos! How is the car doing? Still taking it to the track? Any new mods or brake pads?

So glad to see your message! I wasn't in the bay area for a while and back recently. I went to Sonoma once recently but nothing interesting to share. I plan to install adjustable control arms to reduce front tire wear. Will post the experience later.

I see you dropped the EBC’s, good choice
@stevenstrackdays26873 жыл бұрын
Yeah. ECS Tuning put their brake rotors and EBC yellowstuff pads in a bundle. That's very misleading.

@@stevenstrackdays2687 Yellows are trash. I got word from Ferodo that the DS2500 I used on my GTI will be for sale for the B9 S4 in July. Probably will try those after I wear out these iSWEEP pads. Hope to see you at the track again soon.

@@stevenstrackdays2687 The IS2500 did not do the job. Glazed to my rotors by the end of the day. I suspect they're not up to the spec of the track like the DS2500s I had on the GTI. I know of a guy who runs the IS3000/3500 on a B9 S4 as a track only pad and loves it but I'm looking for a dual use pad. I'll be doing the DS2500 for my next track day and new rotors.

I see you are also suffering from outer shoulder wear. Would you consider adjustable control arms? I'm thinking about it.
@stevenstrackdays26873 жыл бұрын
Yes, I considered but not yet replaced. The SPC Performance arms are easier to adjust than the 034 Motor Sport ones. But 034 Motor Sport guys (in their video) said that the arms are easier to break in the middle. Let me know if you will replace. www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B9_S4-Quattro-3.0T/Suspension/Control_Arm/ www.spcalignment.com/component/spc/?task=part_description&pid=81383®ion=USA&make=Audi&model=S4&year=2019%20-%202019&from=USAFrom&to=USATo www.spcalignment.com/component/spc/?task=part_description&pid=81388®ion=USA&make=Audi&model=S4&year=2019%20-%202019&from=USAFrom&to=USATo store.034motorsport.com/density-line-adjustable-upper-control-arm-kit-b9-audi-a4-s4-a5-s5-allroad.html

Hi Steven, what camera did you use for the track driving recording? And what tools you used for telemetry recordings for example g-force, throttle, speedometer and RPM (OBD scanner or some phone apps)? Thanks!
@stevenstrackdays26872 жыл бұрын
DJI Action for dash cam view. Insta360 One R for inner view. Phone for g-force. A bluetooth obd2 scanner for throttle, speed and RPM. An external GPS (10hz) for speed and map. The app is TrackAddict. It has some recommendations on it's home page for the above devices. I'll have a tutorial video someday. (too lazy :p)

Hi Steve, thanks for these videos. I have michelin pilot sport 4s. I recently made a slight modification to my intake box which gave me a nice induction sound and brings in cooler air from the bottom of the car while still maintaining the original look of the intake box. I notice a slight increase in hp. Also, I think it's better to place your mic while driving near the exhaust or under the hood for better sound effects. Thanks again kzbin.info/www/bejne/ip3Qo4R3bZudjs0

Great ideas. The wind was about 25mph that day. I had two external mics. I used them for my last Sonoma video, but I messed up this time. 🤣
