Madagascar is one of the worlds largest islands, red from the colour of the earth, and full of tropical life. We meet Elysee a botany student with a fascination for her country’s national tree: the baobab. Soloda is a vaso, which is a group of nomadic coastal inhabitants who lives in an isolated village on the Mozambique channel. And Gil, a Frenchman has lived on the island for over 20 years, and has made his home in the foothills of the mountains working on reforesting the valley where he lives.

Yeah, I believe its compulsory to have a guide in the national park there...a good idea for a lot of places, then perhaps a little tourism with a hefty levy towards preservation

I fully agree. I wish Canada would restrict access more. Overuse is killing our parks. If people want access so bad, let them pay. Especially the rich, in their $500,000 motorhomes. The poor can't even afford to get to the parks, so if they are able to make it there, they should be allowed in for free, but only subject to the same limits on visitorship.

Sooo hard to find REAL travel docs anymore. Everything is a lame "travel" vlog hyper narcism project. This is great, so glad I found it. Reminds me of growing up watching Globe Trekker which actually followed people in the region & their lives & gave some history; obviously for a younger generation but this is great now that I'm a BIT...older. :)

The French guy wants to reforest the island with local trees but then also plants the deadliest of all trees as a new wood source.🤦‍♀ (Eucalyptus is a pest here in Europe. It has deep roots and needs huge amounts of water, thereby kills all the other plants around.) I hope at least they use the Eucalyptus for their antibacterial etc. stuff, too.

No they won't. We are used to it. There are FAR less ads on KZbin than on TV. I don't remember seeing more than maybe 3 at the most here, in this show. On TV there would have been at least 20 of them, or more!
