I have 6 acres with a lot of trees, a gravel drive way and live on a dirt road. When I decided that I needed a tractor I looked on you tube to find advice on what to get and found your videos to be the most helpful. I bought a new 1025 r with front end loader, 60 inch belly mower and a 4 foot brush mainly because of the information from your videos. With all the tree leaves that I have, the gravel drive way and dirt road, I really need one of these rakes, you perfectly demonstrated the exact uses that I could use it for plus some uses that I hadn’t thought of, I could see where it would be useful in a food plot that I plan I making in the near future. Your videos are the best and I always look forward to seeing what you come up with next.

I very much appreciate all the videos you have put out on KZbin. They are informative, instructional, and quite like we are talking face to face. They are honest in that when you don't know something, you make that clear as well. Safety is paramount and stressed, as it should be. I bought a used 2016 John Deere 2032r from a neighbor who was moving and it is a great little tractor. I use it to mow my fields (no longer have heifers) and swap out the mower deck for a snow blower in the winter. Your tutorials have helped me when it comes time to seasonally change over, I don't always remember (getting old) the procedure for taking off and putting on the loader and refer to the video to be sure I am not damaging anything. I have a number of attachments and saving to purchase at some point the Dethatcher and perhaps the Stump removal implement. It is clear you enjoy posting these many videos and it is also clear we as the viewers appreciate them. Thank you.

Always love your videos. I have gained an advanced degree in tractor tech thanks to you. As a recently retired man with a small acreage I am throwing myself into my new career as "gentleman farmer". :) The world has become a very tech savvy place and you and your channel have helped educate me in what is available and how it works. Keep up the good work.

You are absolutely right about that dethatcher having a ton of uses. I use a pull behind yard sweeper, but it is not robust enough for me to pull it through my woods like that dethacher would be to help tame my forest. Thank you for showing us more helpful solutions in real world situations.

I have a JD 1025R. It is perfect for my 5.5 acres. I bought it with just the loader, bucket and mower. Since then I’ve purchased the forks, 3 pt. rear quick hitch, straight blade, and the tiller. The more you use this machine the more you can find use for attachments. All of which helps keeps our properties looking nice. Nice video.
@davekirgan9813 жыл бұрын
I received mine a couple of weeks ago. Assembled in about an hour, attached to my quick hitch and away I went. Detached about 4 acres in no time. Used a lawn sweeper to sweep everything up and detached again. Should have taken a picture of the pile of thatch. As high as my loader would pile it. Needs a receiver on the dethatcher so that I can run the sweeper right behind the tines. Feels a little pricey but it’s well built but still light to take on and off. Good purchase.

I have 11 acres of mixed oak and pine which drop a ton of leaves and needles. This tool looks like the perfect tool to clean up the forest litter. If you have a decent piece of property to maintain and have a BX, this is a handy tool. Great for loosening embedded leaves that you didn't get up before the rains came. Also good for cleanup after dropping a tree for whatever reason - gathers up all of the little branches and twigs that are a PITA to clean up. Great for removing leaf litter in the woods if you're trying to expand your lawn.

I have been thinking about getting one of these for several uses. Not only my gravel drive and detaching, but several cleanup jobs as well. I have a lot of dead ash trees in my yard and when you cut them down, they hit the ground and shatter as if they were made of glass. The large limbs are easy to clean up, it is the twigs that are everywhere. I also have two apple trees and the ability to clean while in reverse is an asset on my 1025R so I am not running over them and creating ground cider.

Last year I mulched the leaves I gathered and let them lay in a 40’ by 40’ area thinking that I’d be composting all of the mulched leaves. I never composted so the mulched leaves are still laying there taking up room. Now I decided to use that area to dry milled lumber from my new sawmill. I plan on raking up the mulched leaves by hand. This dethatcher would be great to gather all the mulch. It would be good for gathering the sawdust from the mill too.

dang, thats a brilliant idea. you can mow, dethatch and clean up random debris all at the same time! i live next to a highway and it is a pain, you get trash blow into the yard so you have to spend time prepping the yard, picking up all the trash and then the oaks...just cant keep their limbs to themselves!~ I wonder how well this would do with smaller sticks and things, but i could see it being useful on the gravel drive, in the fall/spring for overseeding and dethatching.
@mikescanlon39463 жыл бұрын
This is a great tool! I have one that I made myself out of John Deere tooth tines that works great for several things you mentioned beyond just de-thatching. Great for raking up sticks in the fall from tree branches too. I re-graded my backyard for some drainage needs and used it to level out topsoil that I put down on top. Worked great! Smoothed things out well. I've put it on my Heavy Hitch weight bracket for some more down pressure to get a bit deeper into the loose soil. Great multi-purpose tool. Thanks Courtney!
@richardwynkoop80593 жыл бұрын
I would be curious if adding a built in "weight bracket" would be a usful addition to this. Though it is intended for light duty work, I could see it flexing into more of a landscape rake roll if it could generate more down pressure. As a bracket though, you could add or remove weight as the job requires....

Yes! That 60" wide spring de-thacher looks great for us in Madisonville Louisiana! My good friend (owns Kubota L2900) & must cut & maintain ~13 acre area of mixed lawn, pasture area & mantain long pathways of that perimeter & many interior trails. This de-thacher would be a great tool to help him clean & maintain this property. His circle of friends also owns multiple acres of similar Pine tree/lawn/pasture/pathway clean'up issues. So your demonstrated & light weight spring de-thach implement would be of interest (& value) to my friend & his pals. So go ahead, pull my name out of your hat, I will give this item to my buddy to help him with his clean-up projects...& brag to his buddies how light weight it is, EZ to install/remove + can do a great job! This is a good product. I purchased one recently to help a lawn renovation. It did an excellent job detaching the existing lawn. It is expensive but a lot of things have done up with this pandemic. Now for the sad part. I used it twice. On the second use, I turned around and the main tine bars were bent. I obviously hit something and never new it. Me bad. So I ordered replacement bars at $50 each plus, here is the shocker, the shipping was $78 so my mistake ended up costing $178 !

I bought The CMP Dethatcher over a year ago from Courtney and planned to use it for leave cleanup (I have 30+ trees on 3 acres), unfortunately it didn't work out at all. Using it to dethatch is something I need to do for my yard because the grass isn't that great (did I say how many trees I have?). Probably works well, but if you are looking to use it for leaves, I'd recommend you pass on it. CMP makes a good product here in the USA, but be sure that it fits your needs. I did also buy Courtney's GWT Vera Bracket with Weights and it is great. I'd highly recommend it if you are in the market. Works great on my 1025r.
