I find the label on the patch confusing. You probably have it the right way, I may have put it the other way. What I mean: the label I thought it meant to place it so that the arrows point at the beads. Yep, I would have screwed this job up lol

Oof! Doing that by hand makes a guy appreciate machinery in the tire shop, doesn’t it? 😊 When putting new tubes in my bikes, I used to add enough air to the tube to give it a little shape before reseating the tire. Found that helped keep it from getting pinched. Might be worth a try on a tractor tire too. :). Thanks for posting, that was a great refresher!

You are suppose to grind the spot down to expose clean rubber aprox the size of the patch then glue and place the patch on

next time use some dish soap or something similar on the bead of tyre for taking off and reinstalling ,just makes the job easy also when you have the tyre just starting to on clamp a vicegrip on the rim to keep that first little bit down in place then work on in small steps around dont use oil it rots rubber

Don't you just love working on those stiff little tires? Consider this, the last time I bought tires I had them foam filled. A little expensive, almost the cost of a tire, but nothing bothers the tires now. It is a skied steer and the stiffer sidewalls from the foam makes the tractor turn smoother and better. Also the foam filling probably more than triples the weight of the tire. Thank you for all the tips in the video too.
