Great video, Tim. One thing I would would caution you about is checking for hydraulic leaks with your hand. Depending on the pressure of the hydraulic system, a high pressure stream of fluid can penetrate skin and cause major injuries. I'm not sure what the pressure is on that system, but I suspect it is high enough to potentially cause problems. My suggestion is to use a piece of cardboard to check for leaks.

Tim, I have a John Deere 1025R I bought in 2015, and I want to put a hydraulic top link on to use with rake, box blade. What system would you suggest I install to be able to have this set up. Thanks for all you do on your channel. I watch your videos a lot.
@TractorTimewithTim Жыл бұрын
A few questions will lead to the optimal answer. 1. Do you have a backhoe? (more specifically, do you already have a power beyond kit)? If so, that makes it easy. 2. Do you want to have front 3rd function for eventual grapple, angle blade, etc? 3. Do you want to have additional rear hydraulics available, in addition to power top link? 4. Do you have hydraulic lift on your mower deck (either single hose to mid valve, or independent hydraulic lift). If the answer to the above is NO (firmly NO) to all of the above, then you CAN get the Deere OEM rear hydraulic kit. Single SCV, not compatible with anything else. If yes to any of the above, I would recommend Summit Power Beyond connected kit. If yes to 2, then get the FRK-JD2 or FRK-JD3 or FRK-JD4 kits. the 2,3,4 is total number of SCV's added....1 for front, the rest for the rear. I would recommend 3 or 4 total. I have 4 on both of my 1025R's. If firm no to #2, then EVK-JD2, 3,4 as above. Rear only, plugs into power beyond. For either of these summit options, you will need to add a power beyond, like in this video. You can get a power beyond kit from Deere, or from Summit. Both function the same. Deere version uses hard-lines, Summit uses flexible hoses to save some $$. if buying from summit-hydraulics.com/ttwt, use code TTWT for a 5% discount. Hope that helps!

Nice job by all three. I agree with you about the newer model's kit being more difficult to work with. On my 1025r I replaced the upper hose bracket with one I fabricated from a piece of 1/8" steel and a piece of old serpentine belt. The greater flexibility provides a more user friendly connection while adequately supporting the hose.

Great instructional video with dueling 1023E and 1025R side by side. Used both that you produced to install the Power Beyond and Summit solution on my 2014 1025R. Purchased the BLV00216 Power Beyond Kit (PBK) for my 2014 1025R, H120 FEL and a 60” MMM to add Summits EVK3-JD1. After installing the two components together I came to the conclusion I could of went with just using the older PBK (LVB25956). Thinking that I would need the extra hydraulic line to make an Independent Hyd mower lift BUT……there was no need for the extra line(s). If I ever decide to go that route I’m just going to use the third spool for the hydraulic power. Seeing how the first two spools are for my top and tilt. I think anyone out there with no Power Beyond installed on their 1025R no matter the year can get away with just using the older PBK with the Summit Hyd solution.

Thanks for your help

@MrChristopoop3 жыл бұрын
@James, when I am mowing my regular yard portions which are definitely not golf course smooth as I am on the back side of hills and slopes, the ride is not bad and very tolerable. I also mow horse pasture (about 2.5 acres) just to keep it even where horses don’t keep up. That ride however is tough on the body after a awhile. Takes a bit longer than an hour and I am usually happy to be done in there. Still I bought tractor to do multiple functions so I knew going in it would not be the best ride mowing. That being said, I can move materials, grade areas, dig with h my backhoe (which we actually use much more frequently than I thought we would), and also TLB doubles as a snow remover in the winter. Co worker just upgraded from one of the X model mowers that was four wheel drive and had snow blower, mower plow blade and one other attachment I cannot recall. He is loving the upgrade already.

Yes, the hydraulic mower lift works like a charm with the Summit Hydraulic solution. Also, the factory hose on my 1023E was plenty long enough. I just re routed it to the rear of the tractor. You will also need to get an adapter to go up from the 1/4" male fitting on the loader quick connects to a 1/2" male fitting on the Summit kit. Then one of the switches on the Summit kit will control the lift/lower of the mower deck.

Yet another enjoyable production from TTWT video showing the installation of the 2 variations of the Power Beyond on the 1 series. I love the concept of the valves at the rear for the growing use of hydraulic equipment. I'd have it in a shot since I can see the benefits it brings. Great Editing Christy of the whole day installation. My 1026R ( European equivalent 1025R ) will come with a Mauser Cab. ETA Sometime July. The dealers here in Poland aren't that clued up on Power Beyond as Backhoes aren't so common or front loaders for that matter as you saw in your German dealership visit. I've been devouring the internet at the various Deere parts sites for the correct PB and notice there is a lot of text including ( Not for CAB ) mentioned. I guess this was John Deere way of saying the cab prevents a backhoe being mounted and didn't see a need for a PB. As you can imagine its going to be a bit of a nightmare getting any PB fitted once that Mauser cab is installed. Interested to know how you might tackle this one Tim, I know its my fault for wanting a cab. But being thrown together with Snow and Rain then the summer Mosquitos I've had to survive. Ha ha. I did have a question concerning your solution to extra ports on the one series John Deere's. What is the advantage of doing the summit solution with power beyond versus a summit solution if you have a rear port already? I was just wondering if one was more efficient than the other, because my understanding is I thought you could put additional ports on some of summit's products as long as you had one set of rear ports on your tractor in the back?
@TractorTimewithTim3 жыл бұрын
No difference in efficiency. I suppose many ways to skin a cat. This is one of them. If you have the rear scv kit from Deere and only need one rear scv, then adding the summit diverter is probably a reasonable option.

@@TractorTimewithTim I was just curious, because I have no desire to put a backhoe on a one series if I end up buying one. @TractorTimewithTim3 жыл бұрын
The advantage to the power beyond solution is compatibility. The PB kits will handle the specific tractor differences. So, this makes install and configuration much easier. It is hard to make a kit specific to each tractor. With this solution, we don’t need a separate kit for each model, and we leave the machine specific complexity to the PB kit. I hope that makes sense. In my opinion, it is a game changer. Hydraulics have always been diffficult to purchase and install. ...but no more!!

@TractorTimewithTim3 жыл бұрын
The solution we are showing here is the best solution in my opinion. Install the power beyond kit, then install our 2-4 valve kit. You might be able to piece together a cheaper solution, but it would entail lots of learning, trial and error, and likely purchasing some duplicate (expensive) parts. This solution is simple, sort of like building with lego blocks. 1. Install the Power Beyond (use this episode as a guide)...get it at greenpartstore.com/ttwt use code TTWT for free shipping. 2. Install the 4 valve kit from summit-hydraulics.com/ttwt (use code TTWT for 5% off) Less than $1000 for everything. ...the 4 valve kit might make it more than $1000...but you get my point. Also, we have a front 3rd function add-on kit coming soon (2-3 months) which will use one of these rear valves for controlling a grapple, etc on the loader. Hydraulics has been black magic on these little tractors for years. With this kit, I believe we have made it understandable, and within reach of the typical DIY type. I hope this helps.

Hey Tim, for us hydraulics novices, could you explain here, or mention in a video how air is purged from the system after doing an install like this?
@TractorTimewithTim3 жыл бұрын
No need to ‘purge’ the air. The hydraulic oil flows continually in a loop. If there is air in the system, it will be purged automatically as soon as the valve is operated. The pump is the first item in the loop....it always feeds from the tank. Any air would be downstream, and would simply be ‘returned’ to the tank eventually.

@@TractorTimewithTim so, if I’m understanding correctly, the air returns to the tank, accumulates, and at some point in routine maintenance, you just top the fluid off in the tank?
@kirkbrinkley69903 жыл бұрын
@@diyerguy2622, exactly right. After adding the PB kit, the Summit Rear Hydraulic kit, and the hydraulic top link, I added about 3 quarts of hydraulic fluid to top off the tank.

Hi Tim, I need some help and your my last hope. Two months ago I purchased a 1025R tractor (2021 model) and I came across a 260 backhoe, a demo model so has had no use but is a few years old. I’m trying to find out what power beyond hydraulics kit I need to suit but no one able to advise me. Someone said that it’s not compatible with my tractor but didn’t say why. I have fitted the sub-frame with no issues. If it’s any help this is the serial no. for the backhoe it is, 1LVO260XEF0091373 I’ve watched your videos which are great, can you help please? Tony.

Tim, If I understand correctly you can't have the JD third function and Power Beyond kits on the same tractor? So this or another 3rd party solution is the only way to have a Power Beyond and Third function on a 1 series?
@TractorTimewithTim3 жыл бұрын
Incorrect. PB and 3rd function can be compatible as long as you order the new PB kit (for 2018+ models). It includes the lines necessary for compatibility with 3rd function kit.

Question, Would I have more down force or down pressure going threw the power divide with the summit hydraulics rather than splitting the lines on the front of the loader for an attachment like the grapple bucket?
@TractorTimewithTim3 жыл бұрын
I do not understand the question.
@paigebevier51243 жыл бұрын
@@TractorTimewithTim is there a bigger advantage to connecting hydraulic lines to the summit hydraulic system, over putting in the regular 3rd function to run the grapple arms on the loader. I'm looking at buying the grapple bucket for my 1025r and i don't know if i want to put the regular 3rd function on or buy the summit hydraulics system.
@kirkbrinkley69903 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, the Summit kit is much more versatile due to the fact you can add up to 4 additional functions with it. The 3rd function kit only gives you 1 more. By going with the Summit kit, I was also able to add a hydraulic top link to one remote and an independent mower lift option to the 3rd spot on my 3 valve kit. Once the add on unit is released, I will be ready to go for a grapple.

Why is this not a standard factory component? Deere couldn't include splitter and some hoses while it was being built? This tractor now lists for over $18,000 on the website, another $6600 on then loader and $5000+ for the mmm deck. Not including power beyond as standard equipment on a $29,000 tractor (today's price) is beyond ludicrous.

Good job. Except you never ever!! Check for hydraulic leaks with your hands! If you have have a small leak you may have your skin cut by the high pressure hydraulic fluid! Which can cause you to get dirt & other contaminants inside your body! Very dangerous! All ways use a mirror or some other material to check for leaks!! Otherwise great job.
