For me this song is for two service members that I wish I could give their lives back. They did paint clouds & twist trees and flipped flags I had painted and hung. Flags danced with no wind and I’m not crazy the Bible & constitution speak of angels in times of trouble and they are for real! I’m so amazed and I just really can’t believe how amazing God is and with God all things are possible from storms to cloud painting to twisting trees to burning smokeless fire like Moses & the burning bush. Nobody would ever deny God and they should run and cry out to Him because He is my rescuer.

Love song this song .....no one sings it better ...It reminds me of my Granddaddy and Grandma that were from Birmingham, Alabama....they live there from the early 1930s and stay there till the late 1940s after WWII ....They were married over 70 years , 5 kids, and all us grandkids ,and great grandkids....I miss them everyday and will be happy to see them again one day....

My son introduced this song to me as a "KJ"! He LOVED to sing it. Thought I'd stop to actually listen to the words. He had a heart for a genre of music! With tears flowing...wished he could Paint me a Birmingham with my son in the swing...! He earned his wings, unexpected to me but knowingly by God! Miss him terribly...Love you too, son! He was only 33!

Always thought this song is a diamond in the rough of modern country music, or any music, for that matter. Definitely one of the best songs every written. Thank you Mr. Lawrence, for your profoundly beautiful interpretation :) You paint a picture in the souls who love this song, with your arrangement. I don't think anyone else can sing this one quite like Lawrence, or with as much soul.

Could I paint you front out of my hold again? Forever she'll be my friend...if you could paint murray bingham.... #Rearranged #ItsTrueTho #SeeRobinHoodNow? Lulz. It was one of my exes. I lived next door to Bingham on Claude Parks Rd in Murrayville, GA in 2004. #ScrappyDoo His brush in hand like a bottle of Buchanan's 12 year. I met my husband on Sardis down the road from where the roundhouse used to be in Gainesville. It was my husband's brother who lived down the street from Robin Hood and next door to Bingham. He died last year in 2019 but I fulfilled a promise to my brother in law from 2005 and had a Georgia Bulldogs flower arrangement made in Raleigh, North Carolina by my cousin who's a florist and had it delivered to his funeral in Gainesville because he's the reason I loved football. If it hadn't been for him I would have never met my husband and there were a lot of happy memories I could never forget and I wanted him to know I didn't forget our talks or forget his friendship.

This was my great grandmas favourite song. They played this in her memory video yesterday and instantly when I heard it I was brought to tears and I realized how truly beautiful this song is. A beautiful song for the memory of a beautiful woman. She was such a kind and sweet soul and she fought so very hard until it was her time to go. I will forever be grateful for the amazing family she and my great grandpa have built. I love her and miss her dearly. She was 87 years old and she fought for everything she ever had. Me and the rest of my family will forever miss her and the lessons she has taught me will be in my heart and her memory will live on forever. I am still young (I’m 13) but this song will always hold a special place in my heart. I miss you great grandma. I hope you’re free of pain. I love you. Say hi to my uncle Dave for me. ❤️RIP Joan Sudo ❤️ ~July 3rd 1934-July 11th 2021~ She will always be remembered and dearly dearly missed by every single person who knew her.

This song brings me back memories of an ex girlfriend… haven’t heard from her since end of 2019… I lived in a small community called Jacksonberg just outside of west Middletown by Trenton… we had a nice run, but she just wanted to be free or just not with me, I would add the words of paint me a Jacksonberg and picture her there on the front porch, I really miss my red headed beauty… I just hope she’s doing well no matter who she’s with or where she’s at I’ll always have a hole in my heart that only she can fill.. I miss u Lisa

It sure does. My memories from the era this song came out in seem long enough ago to be ages ago, but then again, not that long ago at the same time. That being said, I really miss the great music of that era. At the time it didn't seem so profound, but comparing it to today's music, it's 100% better. So many great bands consolidated in one era, both country, and rock also.

This was one of my dads favorite songs, when he was being rushed to the hospital when I was little, this song was all that played in my head on the drive to him. Now everytime I hear this song I cry as I remember all the memories I had with him.

Just heard this on the radio for the first time in years, I never really noticed how close this and the song "lucky man" by Montgomery Gentry are. The chorus is almost spot on as far as melody and tone. Imagine listening to both back to back, let the tears flow.
