I thought the same thing, but for $250 I had a 240v NEMA 14-50 outlet installed in my garage. Even a basic 16amp 240v charger ($200 on Amazon) will charge at 3x the speed of 120v. You never know when you might want a quicker charge in case you need to use the car for longer trips after work.

Having owned both, I would say they are equally efficient (or inefficient) in the cold and at highway speeds. However, I think the Ioniq is better efficiency for city driving. Like your son documented, I haven't gotten advertised charging speeds with a cold battery and that is pretty disappointing. I hope they do updates on it but as you know, I had the ID4 since May and never received any software updates. Good luck with the car. From these three it is the most comfartable, relaxed driving car with the best space and the best safety features. As a family of 4 neither the EV 6 nor the Ioniq 5 came close to the usability of the Enyaq. Except the charging speed. But again - how often does the average family travel long distances. And even then - do the last minutes really count or are not other aspects more relevant... Good that we have choices. Greetings from Germany.

But by me keep speeds down it’ll raise back up to more range. So if you drive 70mph and lower it’s perfect but if you drive 73ish and more it’ll get a little less of range see the difference. Like if it says 200 miles you can get that like a gas car but you gotta keep speeds around 70-and lower like 68mph

Yeah a lot of grocery stores have tons of excess parking, especially off to the sides. I am actually looking at buying a plaza right now which has a ton of extra parking, I could probably put in about 50 chargers easily and not touch the existing spots that are there. Trying to figure out how much it will cost and if there are any programs that will pay for them

We have quite a few supermarkets here in the UK which provide chargers - albeit farly low powered ones but in some cases free. A restaurant less than a mile from my house has a 50 kw DC charger which is available to anyone - even if not using the restaurant but 350 kw chargers are few and far between....

Beat on that landlord! EV charging - not expensive at all for a L2 Chargepoint setup, or similar - will be a perk for current and future tennants.

Or charging at work.

Just random fact. Any Hyundai dealers slated to have the Ioniq5 and future series were required to install DC Fast Chargers. My neighbor is a sales manager of my local one and they were ineligible for the first batch of Ioniq5's due to no charger installs yet. His location has been stuck on permits.

The more I look at the Ionic 5 I know it's big but gee it looks like a Golf where was it designed in Germany the 3/4 angles front and rear and side profile are almost Golf obviously the wheelbase is stretched and the boot extended slightly I think it looks better than the ID4 on camera at least.

Very nice - I like the matte finish. I'm very interested to see how the matte finish holds up and if it is actually a pain to maintain.

Im just more impresed that that they didn't charge markup!! It's seems like there are dealerships from Toyota and everyone else who is marking up vehicles... Not blaming dealerships as this is basic supply and demand and they aren't breaking the law.. But seems like a pretty great dealership. Awesome vehicle too..

I always think it odd that car manufacturers name their trim levels as "limited," shouldn't u get a discount?

That glass roof looks amazing, shame that we can't get it at all in the UK. Come on Hyundai, who is making these idiotic decisions, they need sacking. We may not get the sun that much but we'd like to let the light in.

I would really like to know how your Dad got the deal he did. No reservation, walked in to get a Limited at MSRP without lots of add ons... There is one of a similar spec listed on their website currently, but it has $200 'cargo package' as well as the floor mats, plus it's marked up from the $56,140 on the window sticker to a 'Gary Rome Price' of $61,140. I'd love one of these cars, but I don't have a YT channel to do "not sponsored" videos on to save myself the $5,000 this dealer is loading onto the car compared to the deal your Dad got.

his dad said he knew Gary Rome from high school too.

So, after owning the Ionic 5 for a bit, how does your ownership experience compare to the ID-4? We are trying to decide between the two for our next EV. Thanks.

They are both great cars for sure. But there are many things I like more about the Ioniq5. Thinking of shooting a video update this weekend to share my thoughts…

Defiantly an upgrade for sure. Although I don't care for the Ioniq 5 info screen, lack of frunk/storage, and the lack of back window wiper. Far as looks go though, looks damn good. I own the Ford MME, even though their software is still a bit questionable at times, I think I'd still choose the MME over the Hyundai. Although I will admit, that electric roof liner is pretty damn slick!!!

good luck with the car. Waiting for them to add the rear wipers before making the plunge. Can not see squat out the back with bad weather. Should have them next year.
