We used to have a yorkie, they are hard to house train and tend to literally poop anywhere they want, and they do it alot, it's gross. Maybe when they shot that scene the family just got home, sometimes when we would get home after a day of work/school there would be poop all over the house because of the dog, and we'd have to clean it every day we got home. I don't reccomend a yorkie personally, lol. Also, depending on the season in TN, ants just invade, it's not because the house is "dirty", but if they have even the tiniest crack in a door, ants and asian beetles, crickets, and flies, are all common insect to get into a house now again in TN, you can get rid of them, but it's not the easiest, and it literally happens with the seasons every year. Doesn't help that they live in what appears to be a fairly rural part of Chattanooga, where insects will be more abundant vs the more urban areas.

Mia has emotional problems, not only OCD but also anxiety , so obvious from watching this episode. She's an utter control freak, and it was so sad seeing her daughter anxious at the thought of getting into trouble because of the party and the house not being obsessively clean. It was shattering to see Mia's husband and children leaving the house and not even saying goodbye to Angie. They were like programmed robots, since Mia ran the house according to her neurotic rules. Angie's family were warm friendly people, close and affectionate, their house wasn't immaculate but that was irrelevant. Better to enjoy life with your family then be obsessive and neurotic over cleanliness to the point of making your family unhappy. I didn't like Kaleb torturing the worms, that is sadistic and Mia was, in my opinion, right to question this. Children should be bought up to treat all living beings with compassion and kindness. Not surprised to read in the comments below that Mia is now divorced from her husband. I hope her children are OK, they were so missing out on a relaxed enjoyable childhood.

I had a mother like Mia and have been in therapy overcoming the damage it caused me since I was in my late teens. Living with a robot with OCD is hard. Living with adults who are mentally ill is hard. Especially for a child. Her children look miserable. I have no idea how her husband deals with her, but he deserves a medal. He seems stiffled. He gas a sense of humour and is cool guy. He doesn't deserve to have to live like that, tiptoing around and being controlled by a very unwell woman. I do realize that Mia most likely behaves this way due to some past trauma, but she needs to address that before her husband gets sick of dealing with it and she completely destroys her children. The Tennessee family are what I craved and prayed for as a child. The mom is just the most sweet and laid back lady, and the dad is fun and genuinely loves being with his kids.

It's not uncommon for people with OCD's thoughts to immediately go to worst-case-scenario inappropriate stuff when getting physical touch. I give A LOT of credit to the dad who is teaching his kids. "Not all Iraqi people are bad!" That was extremely emotionally intelligent of him! Whereas their New Mom was uneducated and ignorant about what was going on in the world at the time! Having friends and family who were over there at the time, or had been there and was since back, I know how kids who aren't even old enough to drink in America had already lived through and seen unimaginable, unspeakable things! All in the name of freedom and the US of A! I am really impressed by this episode! The Tennessee family couldn't have been lovelier and was very understanding of how she felt the money should be spent. Albeit completely clueless as far as to what things like college even costs! And she needs to stop vacuuming so much and instead, get therapy! Long-term, regularly scheduled therapy! One of my fondest memories of my favorite Uncle was going to that aquarium . It was HUGE! Unfortunately he passed away at the age of 36 from a random brain aneurysm while skiing with his youth group that he pastored . I’ll never forget that last trip to the aquarium.

Mia and her daughter where just straight up stuck up
@amberrose11084 жыл бұрын
mizzramos no I work in a school and I’ve subbed in k-12 for 8 years. I’m very familiar with how kids act. The little girl really wasn’t stuck up (that happens later on like middle school). She was just a product of her moms overbearing negative attitude

@Amber Rose ~ I also work at a school and have for many years with all age groups and I have to disagree that being stuck up doesn't happen until middle school. It's much earlier now. In this day and age they are exposed to so many things that they are too young for. Then society adds to the pressure to grow up faster then they should. It's sad. And just clarify i know they aren't fully emotionally mature until they are almost in their 20's but emotional maturity and developing attitudes are two different things. A lot depends on how much interaction they have with other kids and how much exposure they've had to tv and/or social media. I also think girls develop those attitudes much faster than boys. However I do agree with you that Mia's influence feeds into it.

Mia commenting on the map game of soldiers having guns saying, "These are the people that go into schools and shoot everyone" No, Mia the kids that do that are ones that are held to neurotic expectations, living under a roof of extreme mental health issues and have no autonomy, affection, or healthy relational attachment. Oh, Mia that is your household! I seriously hope she got some counseling after this aired.

Mama Mia has been popping up in the comments saying her daughter is all good. I sure hope so. She was just a child at the show’s taping and not responsible for most of her actions. Wonder if Mama Mia ever humbled herself enough to realize there was a problem and put the kid in counseling. The first step is to admit a wrong.
