Traditional Mangalorean Style Bangda (Mackerel) Masala Without Coconut - Seafood
Mangalorean cuisine is famous for its staple non-vegetarian preparation, be it chicken or fish.
Banguda Masala is another loved dish of Mangalorean cuisine. The fish is cooked with a fiery red masala paste. This is best served with plain steamed rice. Here I have not made use of coconut, but if you prefer less spicy food, you can add 2 tbls of coconut with grinding. The vinegar added while grinding brings out a unique flavour to the curry.
Mackerels are a good source of vitamin D, protein, vitamin B and are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids. Consumption of fish like mackerels protects us from various diseases and are very good for our health.
