Hi Keith You don’t “blend” a flank in top and bottom, it would look really rough. It’s all done at one time. If you had to join the 2 you would use and expansion joint bead.

Hello, Alex. How do you tell if the render's ready for floating up? I know that it depends on a number of factors but there are probably signs. I sometimes have to give the wall a light haze of water before I go over it with a poly float, so that probably means that I'm doing something wrong. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Depends how bad your talking. Even the roughest of walls usually can be saved by bedding render mesh in the scratch.

@@AlexMorleyPlastering theres over an inch difference in depth all over the brick work

Sounds like it would benefit from a pre-scratch. Basically I would keep the scratch the same gauge. 4 Sand 1 Cement, go over again the next day and set your beads. 4 Sand 1 Cement. On the 3rd day topcoat 5 Sand 1 cement 1/2 Lime

Thank you for your feedback. We don’t recommend it over colour render per-say. But in Eastbourne it’s a more common render, which is why we do it more. Personally I think it’s better, it’s tried and tested.
