Great video Pete. I still use a trad pole sometimes and very good on windows that you can't use wfp on (I have a couple of customers that have an old window that leaks but you can't access without a pole). I know you like the moerman but someone recommended me the wagtail high flyer (haven't used the other models really) and its superb - you'd be a dab hand with it mate. PS. Don't care what anyone says, your traditional window cleaning videos are the best on KZbin by an absolute mile 😊👍

Yeah having trad pole skills is a good thing for a pro window cleaning service. I have tried wagtails but wasn't impressed with the build quality. Appreciate the kind comment buddy, I just practice and then pass on what I've learned over the years. I think the key is to always want to improve and learn more, even if its just refining your techniques. Most pro window cleaners could do what I do with the right tools and techniques plus plenty practice 😉
@kevdubbleyou
@kevdubbleyou Жыл бұрын
@@TradMan thanks Pete. I wouldn't be without the trad pole and don't know how some window cleaners do wfp only as it would restrict you quite a lot I think. If you get the chance do try the high flyer - I wasn't overly impressed with the build I saw of any of the others I've, but the high flyer is terrific 👍

Hi Pete I’m new to window cleaning, could I use this method instead of using a ladder In general? For 2 story houses? I find I’m not very stable and struggle to get a good technique when I’m up the ladder, I am very new so if it’s best to just get used to the ladder I’m more than happy to, really enjoy the videos bud you are very helpful

Hello mate, sorry for the question that’s not really related to your video (which was really helpful, thank you!)… Do you have a tool or method you use for cleaning out the crap that gathers in the gap under a window frame / above the sill? Been using a bottle and squirting it out… just wondering if there’s anything better… You’re always where I come for advice, appreciate it!

Yeah its not easy. I've got a few jobs with this issue. Takes a bit of patience and precision. Or you can cheat and use the wfp for that job, entirely your call 😉

How do I get a 30 ft tall large triangle window? I have a 30 foot trad pole but it doesn't swivel... water fed pole only? My 22 ft ladder feels very wobbly up there. Left lots of streaks last time. Anyways Thank you.

You could use a moerman excelerator squeegee on a pole, takes some practice though. Easier option for most folks is use the wfp system.

What poles do you think are good for starters? and how long do you think is a good length? I am looking for one that doesn't have so much wiggle. I am from Denmark and LOVE your content!
@TradMan
@TradMan Жыл бұрын
Hi buddy I started with an Unger optiloc aluminium, it's cheaper but it has quite a lot of wiggle! The more expensive the pole generally is better carbon. Which in turn is more rigid. It depends on your budget really but the cheaper it is the more bendy it'll be. A good middle of the road choice is the gardiner slx. It's not as expensive as an Unger nlite and is more rigid than an aluminium pole which is also heavy whereas the slx is lighter. But if funds allow I would buy the unger nlite poles. The carbon is top of the range Around 20 - 25ft is a good size for a longer trad pole
@alexanderokholm5355
@alexanderokholm5355 Жыл бұрын
@@TradMan You know where i can find the SLX pole? and would it maybe be better just to get an Aframe ladder?
@TradMan
@TradMan Жыл бұрын
The SLX pole is available directly from Gardiner poles online (UK company) I have ladders and poles so anything I can't get to with ladders I can get with the pole. I'd suggest the same setup for you if you can.

How would you do this if it was 1 story higher? So ground floor, first floor, and then the second floor dormer? Would you put a ladder to the edge of the roof and then trad clean the window with a pole, while standing on the ladder?
@TradMan
@TradMan 3 ай бұрын
I have done that. Or can still trad it from the ground if your pole is long enough. Alternatively use the wfp for the high windows 😊👍🏻

6M Aluminium is cheaper but heavy. Fibreglass is a bit more expensive than aluminium and is lighter but bendy. Carbon is light, strong but more expensive So depends on your budget

Hi Pete I bought a fliq pad recently for my 14 inch channel but it doesn’t cover the full width of the channel is that normal?
@TradMan
@TradMan Жыл бұрын
If you've bought a 14 inch fliq it should be the same length as the 14 inch channel. If it's quite a bit shorter then you've probably been sent the 10 inch version.

@TradMan
@TradMan Жыл бұрын
You have to work a bit quicker and use a little less soap on the washer than you may normally use in more moderate temps. In this video I was working slowly for demo purposes but when not on camera I work much quicker. If its a larger pane you can break it down into sections, ie clean the top half first then the lower half. Make sure the washer is as wet as possible in high heat.
