Yesssss! I live in Las Vegas and there are a few roundabouts on one street (N. Town Center Drive) and nobody knows how to use them. It's especially a mess around Summerlin Hospital - a roundabout with four slip lanes (North Town Center Drive & North Hualapai Way, if you want to see it on Google maps.) Roundabouts make traffic come to a crawl in this area because they don't exist anywhere else in the city, so nobody knows how to give right of way.

The secret is that roundabouts are a low cost OUI/distracted driver detector. Search KZbin for roundabout crash, plenty of cars getting launched, removing impaired drivers effectively at a much lower cost than checkpoints

Weeeee~llll akshually you can't have two stargates on the same planet without address conflicts as you can see when the team ends up in the antarctic gate by accident and thus, you cannot have intra-city stargates like that. Also the connections should drop every 38 minutes until they recall the address.... Yeah, enough nerding around.

Around 9:00 you put the roundabout on the wrong intersection, I yelled at my computer screen for a while, thinking that you were about to notice and switch to the other intersection, but you didn't notice, and I had a good laugh about that one. Also at 20:15 the second half of your asymmetrical road is backwards.

Hold shift, select the ROAD not the junction. Trust me, when using priority, it works for the entire length of the road. This means from the very start of the road, to the very end, regardless of the number of junctions. It's saying that whole road is priority. You can cycle the selection by continuing to click while holding shift.

But sir! Do you know, that those SG from thumbnail are from Pegasus Galaxy, right? Our Earth's and Milky Way's stargates were build quickly. This is why all of them don't have "LED" like ring around it. We have solid symbols on SG, but Pegasus galaxy's are from transparent material that is glowing. Only gates from Pegasus Galaxy have it 'couse Ancients Ones did not cheap out on them in they own great experiment ;-)

When I try to load the pre-fixed save-game, it takes literally forever (>5 minutes), and never actually loads: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHm7ipawp5t3j6c compared to most of my own saved games which load within a minute. I guess I should browse through all the "maps" (visible when starting a new game) and make a note of which DLC each map comes with, then see which of those DLC packs I am willing to afford, and just skip all the radio stations, and theme parks etc.

A good formula for deciding the number of lanes on your roundabout is: number of exits - 1. Then if you use the outside lane as a dedicated exit lane (for each exit) the traffic will automatically put itself in the correct lane and increase capacity. For very busy roundabouts, approaching entrances should ideally have the same number of lanes as the roundabout itself (even just for a short stretch), but quieter ones can have fewer (but *never* more).

The shift trick only works on roads that aren't divided by a junction. So it won't always work on roundabouts because the junctions are connected to the end/start of a piece of road. The shift trick works well on a long street or highway. The shift trick also doesn't work when the road changes to a different type of road. The game considers the join between the road types a junction even though it isn't. Just saying for other people who may not know this :)

My traffic isn't bad but my road design is. I can make an awesome one square city. But as soon as I have to build a new highway I just start over. I found underground highways make it much easier to make efficient uncontested road networks above them. And just out of masochism I don't make any roundabouts.

If you pause at 20:22, the road at the top (the asymmetrical road) has a mismatch between the first section (1 lane above the solid line and 2 below it) and the others (2 lanes above the solid line and 1 below it).

@Biffa, when you do the elliptical roundabouts and have roads going over (to skip the roundabout) check the speed on the thru road. Make sure it's faster than the roundabout speed or the sims will simply ignore it. It's a little trick that's helped me fix issues tons of times! I usually make it 20 mph faster and it always works great!

You make it look easy. I bought the game to try these things myself. Everything goes fine up to a point and then it hits a wall, so I'm trying to learn how to incorporate these things in from the beginning whilst being able to afford it (and before some of the roads are enabled by achievements). I tried unlocking all achievements and using infinite money, but then there's no sense of achievement, lol. Have to learn not to get attached to the old system, recognise what needs to be done and just do it. But if it wasn't challenging, there'd be no fun :o)

Hi Biffa!! I love this series, however, it is getting a little repetitive for me. May I suggest a challenge, if you're up for it? Fix the traffic WITHOUT using roundabouts! I'm curious as to what other tools can help you manage the traffic, and maybe seeing if anything is as good as a roundabout! Love the channel!

If using highways as roundabout road, remember to set the speed limit down to something humane, if you have it at default (100) cars have a hard time joining in due to the speed of the cars already on the roundabout.

*BIFFA* SHIFT only works on the segment it's a part of, not round-a-bouts, cause those are segments after segments, example, find a road that allows parking, hold shift, click on the parking icon, you'll see it change for the whole road, until it comes to a segment/intersection, same when you ban vehicles, but only want to ban certain ones, hold shift choose, only that road will be affected
