If your answer was even remotely close to an area known for buying/selling drugs or guns then he will start down the route of this person could have purchased, or is carrying guns or drugs.... His next question will be... Cop: Where are you heading to? If your answer is once again remotely close to an area known for buying/selling guns or drugs he then has built even more "reasonable suspicion" to follow through... At this point his next question will be... Cop: Do you have any guns, drugs, or nuclear bombs in the vehicle? (they throw in the joke to trick you into relaxing and letting your guard down) Here they can do whatever they want... If you are honest and say "no"... then they will say you are hiding something... If you get defensive and say "why the heck would you ask me that?" they will say that you are hiding something... Lose lose. @Michael Sciortino :: the Fifth Amendment doesn't apply. A traffic citation is an infraction and not a crime in most States. An infraction is a civil offense to which there is no jail time. Certain questions you are required to answer. Like why are you on your cell phone? Is this your correct address on your license? Why is the address different on your vehicle registration? Why didn't you pull over to the right when I activated my lights and siren? You can answer it then or you can answer it in court. Your attitude then may keep you from getting a citation. Morons. It's KZbin lawyers like you that get other people in trouble. Unless you have committed a crime and you are being interrogated regarding your involvement in that crime the police don't have to give you your Miranda Rights. That's the difference along with the fact that an infraction is a civil offense and not criminal in most States. Rethink your position or drive at your own peril. When you act like a dick you'll be treated like a dick. A simple speeding ticket may suddenly turn into a little more closer look at your vehicle and the officer notices that your tires are bald. The tint on your windows is too dark. The bass thump could be heard from outside of your vehicle violating a city ordinance. That very well could be a misdemeanor. See how it works? Play stupid games, Win stupid prizes. You would be surprised how much your attitude plays and how the officer plays.

THEN watch the video where a similar situation is occurring on a highway and some crazy driver slams right into the firetruck which saves the lives of the first responders. I do think it is ironic that he pulled someone over for speeding, but had to go at a faster speed to catch that person to tell them not to speed. Personally, anytime I see a cop speeding in the direction I'm going without lights on, I match their speed and follow. This officer did have his lights on, which alerts other drivers. @@je.9793 if it's 25 speed limit, surely it's 25 for a reason and in the UK if we get pulled for speeding cops don't usually give tickets out they try and educate us about the dangers of speeding but if we do get a ticket, we are given the option of either except the fine and points on our lisence or go on a speed awareness course, but in the US it seems if you're caught it's instant fine and no explanation as to the dangers of speeding especially where there is a low speed limit
@je.97934 жыл бұрын
@@littlemissy2883 once you get ticketed, depending on the speed, you can contact the court and request defensive driving course in lieu of going to court and its usually a lesser fine. As for the education part, you really don't need to be told why speeding is wrong. I feel like, in most cases, its not so much that the speed is dangerous, just that its above the posted sign. For example, in NY, the fastest speed limit I've seen is 65, but you can safely travel 75 on most highways. I dont think you really get dangerous speeds until you start pushing 85/90, but thats because I'm from Texas. It also depends on toad conditions, traffic conditions, etc, but I feel most vehicles today can safely travel 80mph on most highways. As for 25mph, unless you are driving in an active school zone, that is too slow. The ability to brake at 25 vs 40 is not much different. Most residential areas are 30. I’ve always said from A to B, may be a dick response but where I’m coming from and where I’m going to have NEVER been relevant to the stop, regardless if the officer may have thought it was or wasn’t. Random DUI/inspection check points, failure to inspect and failure to register stops do not necessitate my origins and destination or reason for travel info. Maybe a suspension stop in a high drug traffic area would, but I’ve never been in that situation, only aforementioned situations. Now when I was stopped in front of my house for “suspicious” activity I did answer those questions as I agreed with the officer, I was suspicious. It was 4am and I was just sitting in my car playing on my phone, I had just gotten done work and was killing time, relaxing before going in.

@@hattrick8684 let’s be clear I’m not saying you have to answer non motor offence related questions sole on primary reason for pull over. I ‘m just saying why officers will often ask unrelated questions. And you don’t have to answer if not related to insurance gathering etc he can just write the ticket and leave. And you don’t have to answer questions not sure if some you do in US but I would imagine limited to initial reason for pullover given.
@hattrick86844 жыл бұрын
@@iceman34 it varies greatly on the situation and people involved. In the US you don’t have to answer anything at all, you only have to provide info proving you can legally drive, license, reg and insurance so that can all be paperwork, no speaking required. However refusing to speak at all in some situations may guarantee you being detained longer or possibly arrested. If it’s relevant to his investigation and won’t harm you or someone you care about I find it better to just answer truthfully. If it will harm you or someone you care about or is completely irrelevant to his investigation that’s a hard no to an individuals discretion. I had some lady feel threatened by my presence in a public garden at a public park, she called the police on me. I was taking pictures of flowers and inanimate objects(even if I photographed her, 100% legal where I’m from) I was very forthcoming and thorough with the officers on who i was, why I was there, what exactly I was doing and even showed the officer my photo library from that day, the last 30min with time stamps to prove I wasn’t taking photos of her(again, even if I was 100% legal and acceptable). It was pertinent to their investigation and it was no harm to me or anyone else so I explained fully and answered all questions. A lot of variables with this subject. I'm really curious on this one... Which points were you saying he was being heavy on? The driver clearly pulled a big stupid at that intersection... He claims he thought the cop recieved a medical call... If that's the case, why didnt he pull to the right as legally required to do so? Because he didnt want to miss his turn? If he would have admitted that I doubt there would have been a long drawn out argument about that... Instead he chose to lie...
@thespyinthecab75383 жыл бұрын
@@teddy5004 You don't see how the Cp was being ridiculous? He flipped on his lights right at an intersection that he was going to be turning LEFT on which he was already pulling in the lane when the Cop turned on his lights. The light was turning green and he obviously saw the cops lights and like was going to pull over after making the left which he was waiting to turn on as opposite traffic was moving straight...... Obviously the Cop having to wait for him to get through the light was too long (like literally less than 5 seconds) and started doing that ridiculous every single sound he had on his car to be a jackass.... because why? Because when he turned on his lights the driver didn't decide at an INTERSECTION, to make an sharp right back into the intersections shoulder? Which he wouldn't have made it in that angle (because again, its an active intersection) and would have had to pull over passed the light like he ended up having to do, which was not the direction he was going, not to mention much more of a dangerous maneuver to do, especially at an intersection where cars were coming both ways. All the Cop had to do was wait a few seconds more for him to complete the turn he was originally doing and find somewhere safe to pull over. The fact that the Cop got his panties in a bunch because the driver didn't immediately react by frantically changing lanes and going to the shoulder in less then 5 seconds CLEARLY shows this Cop has emotional issues and also abuses his "authority". Not to mention that it clearly says that you are to pull over somewhere you deem fit and safe. He could have driven much more distance before having to get such a douche bag response from this moody cop. Another reason why people dislike Cops so much. Cops like this one, who acts like a little Napoleon & a child is the perfect example.
@teddy50043 жыл бұрын
@@thespyinthecab7538 Everything you just said was either a complete lie or falsehood. No, this cop did not "turn on his lights while he was turning" the cop had his lights on BEFORE and turned them off momentarily to prevent the stop from happening in the middle of the street. When he saw the man taking a left instead of a right he turned them back on because the guy was being a moron. He knew damn well he was getting pulled over, and the fact he tried to lie saying he thought the cop was on a medical call? So why again, did he not pull over to the right? Because you're required to do so for medical calls as well... The law requires you to pull over to the RIGHT, to the left is the highway (wonder why the cop doesnt want him taking a left) Additionally for your last comment you are completely off base. The exact phrasing of the law is "immediately when safe to do so"... This does not give you the privilege of driving wherever you feel like, nor does this allow you to take a left onto a different road when you're supposed to pull over immediately.
@thespyinthecab75383 жыл бұрын
@@teddy5004 lol. A falsehood? If reality is a falsehood then yes.....you must be a Cop or a family member of one.......but im going to say a Cop. The video clearly shows when he turns on his lights that it was in between the first light he went through and the second light he was on for the left hand turn. It's right there on tape. Both lights were only a few feet away from each other. In that space where he turned on the lights he was already a few feet from the second light that he was planning on making a left on. AGAIN, ANY SANE Cop would not get his undies in a pinch for the driver to take more than a few seconds. From the moment he initiated the pull over to the time where he gets all pissed off and started making unnecessary siren calls to attempt to match his ego was 8 seconds..... It took 8 seconds for this Cop to lose his cool and get perturbed. Even in countless videos on youtube alone, you can find cars taking the needed time to find somewhere safe to pull over that was the same if not longer. And most of those Cops didn't seem to have conniption fit. The driver was signaling left and would have even pulled over faster if it wasn't for the fact that he had to allow the cars going the opposite direction go first before turning. The driver acknowledged he was being pulled over and signaled, not showing any signs that he wasn't going to pull over. There is no feasible excuse for this Cop for acting like such a pretend tough guy and crying over a few seconds. It's absolutely ridiculous to think this driver did anything wrong nor deserved to be treated like that by this emotionally unstable Cop (as many are). This Cop was just playing the typical role that so so many Cops play...... They are so used to those who are so afraid of getting a ticket or of the "super scary" Police Car sounds, that they "yes sir, no sir" there way into oblivion while kissing the cops ass...... As one does when they experience such ridiculous behavior, they get used to it and think that they are important or special, and when a normal human who does normal things and isn't afraid for silly reasons doesn't panic and cower at the split second they see them, the Cop gets a little dent in his big ego. And you get something along the lines of this moron. If you think this Cop acted professional or wasn't being rude, well you know. . . .

Excellent point!! Had the driver pulled across lanes thinking he needed to let the Officer pass and caused an accident! That was the worst place for that Officer to go “cherries and berries”! Sounds like he’s not very busy during the day and needed to prove his worth. Thank you for your service, Officer, AZGUNNER7!
