Calm, slow, almost musicless videos... it is understandable that there are people who are not in the right frame of mind to understand this idiosyncrasy, and that they considered these experiences boring and meaningless. Maybe one day they will see them again. With different eyes.

I can’t express how much I enjoy these videos. You’d think watching a bloke going for a hike and making a cup of coffee might get a bit samey but I find each one fascinating, the audio is excellent and really lifts the production values above any similar content providers. The suspense over wether or not you will speak makes me pay attention when you do, which is just as well as it’s always about something worthwhile. And then there’s great information like the naming of flora and fauna and giving the translation which are really nice touches (although I was disappointed there wasn’t a translation for ‘egg noodles’, made me chuckle anyway). Thank you for doing what you do.

It is not about the miles but about the experience.. I'd be perfectly happy wandering about up there for a week and just do some loops. Maybe stay a day at one spot. Get a feel for the place.. I would have no problem finding a good hammock spot I see. Amazing how much space there is.. few roads, nothing else but woods, swamp, stone, river and animals.. Thanks, a good watch.

I may have said this before, but I thoroughly enjoy how you edit your videos so that you make our eyes _hear_ , and make our ears _see_ what you are experiencing. (And yes, people...I wrote that *exactly* as I intended to write it.🙂) I’m also glad to see you using an aluminum windscreen/heat guide to conserve fuel and shorten your required cook time. I don’t understand why I don’t see more outdoor YT channels doing this, and instead just letting a lot of the heat escape when using this type of gas hiking stove, thus requiring more time and fuel to cook their food/make coffee etc.

Just found your channel in the last few days Erik - absolutely love it. John Denver wrote in Rocky Mountain high " Now he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams Seeking grace in every step he takes His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake" Your videos and approach seem to embody the words above. Found myself even saluting and giving a thumbs up to nothing and no-one into the quite morning at my solo campsite (well apart from my two dogs) when I sipped my first coffee at 5AM on my own slightly shinier Trangia 27 kettle. Wishing you many great trips this year and in all the seasons ahead of us all.
