I don't know how it is in Australia, but where I live, is Czech republic, There aren't many maintenance roads around rail corridors. The maintenance is usually performed by rail-based vehicles, including cranes and other heavy machinery.
@RobertDoornbosF12 жыл бұрын
Totally unrelated but I love the Czech Republic. The railways are pretty good too. Especially in Prague the railways were nice. And Ceske Budejovice. Very nice cities.👍🏻

In Australia its a combination of the two - we use roads as well I think because of fire service requirements
@oliverrevis41902 жыл бұрын
Look up: Bridge end, Wollstonecraft it's an example of service roads being used in the heart of our biggest city. And just round the next bend of railway just north of Wollstonecraft Station there is another big service road you can see from satellite view. Most of the train lines near me have them.

Kinda similar in uk but we have the best train system we have a about 40 different rail type systems around the uk like trams etc

Ok so railroads in a nutshell: Engine service areas (like what you built at the end) are for engine repairs and stuff. You then have classification yards for cars also called marshal or hump yards where cars are sorted for distribution. Essentially train one will pick up a bunch of stuff from one destination called a unit train, take it to a hump yard where it will be sorted to go wherever it’s gonna go, then those trains will move them to another classification yard then delivered or if it’s on the way, just delivered. The way you did it is actually pretty accurate. There’s lots of decent KZbin videos on this if you’re interested and it’s pretty easy to learn the concepts

I still think that there should be a rail passenger service from the airport into town, it would definitely be a good way of dispersing traffic plus it’s a decently common phenomenon for places that have rail, at least in Europe it is
@realEpicGold2 жыл бұрын
Exactly, you definetly need a passenger rail service to the airport. It will help traffic a lot and it is way more realistic
@FolgoreCZ2 жыл бұрын
There's going to be a metro running in the median of the highway. Places tend to have either metro or rail access to airport. Having both isn't unheard of, but it is very rare.
@SerperiorFox2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think he needs to build a train line since the metro will go to the airport

I was going to suggest it, if anything because the other side can bypass downtown. But there is nothing on the other side.
@florent722 жыл бұрын
Yes it's needed. Probably not for the people living in Dundee cause they can take the metro, but for the people coming from Paterson and the other cities that are gonna be built in Oceania.

Some ports have areas where the hold large areas of brand new imported cars, trucks and heavy vehicles and there would be some equipment on floats and those truck trailers that carry multiple new cars.

@emanuele35512 жыл бұрын
I think you should put more bushes and grass around the tracks, that will help making everything more realistic. Also as I know there aren’t any power lines connecting like that at minute 16:15. I study them and I definitely know that, it’s impossible for power lines to be connected. Anyway Saturday episodes are the best part of my weekend

would be pretty cool to have some graffiti on the quay/retaining walls at the sides of the railway - unsure about aus/nz but everywhere i have been it's really common beside railways!
@oliverrevis41902 жыл бұрын
It would be cool to see more pure bushland incorporated within the city similar to places like Balls head or Lane cove national park in Sydney.

Just north of Wollstonecraft Station in Sydney is a great example of an Australian service road in real life
@Nebs12 жыл бұрын
Down at the port where you had that awkward space you could have placed a couple of sidings. They are used to temporarily store wagons and locos with mechanical problems. Also a fuel point for locomotives might be realistic. These two things don’t require much space but make it look more realistic.
@nedfeary17562 жыл бұрын
Just a thought but most ports (at least here in SA) will have a huge grain silo so that they can come off the trains and then be stored before export. That could work in that other area
@domo_hudson2 жыл бұрын
@7:44 - that terminal is super busy because the other one has a toll to entry and this one doesn't have a toll. There should be a toll on both probably, or none on either. But kudos on the build, I love how it looks!
