I went to Otaru once before way back in 2012 during a graduation trip. We went during the Snow Festival season, so the canal was very lively and beautiful. I was hoping to go this year during a conference, but it sounds like the conference was shifted to be fully online, so that might have to wait for another time. I did manage to go to Furano a couple of years back though for the lavender fields.

I think it’s great when couples can do things together when they don’t do things together. I love the snow I would kill myself if I tried to go down a mountain side. but I could crunch around in it for hours and I would love to watch my partner go down the hill. And spend a romantic night in a hotel room with the snow falling absolutely. And that hotel looked amazing. I think it would make for a great weekend.
