Nymphica Awwwwww, thats heartbreaking!I was looking in the video and he looked quite bizarre.Im so very sorry!It reminds me of my bird i named frosty he was just like wryy he was an albino.He was very playful.The sad thing is that when we got him he was 2 toes from the left feet and 1 toes on the right feet.Then he got blund and eventually couldn't eat well and slowly died of stravatiob.The things that hits mme is that he had a girl or a mate that really loved him.When we buried him she was chirping so loud.I very sorry for your lose.

Nymphica I know this may be personal but...how did he die?
@BlackthornWitch7 жыл бұрын
Wryy was a double factor dominant silver, progeny of the older generation that still wasn't as healthy as they are nowadays. (DS is one of the rare colors, though nowadays quite nicely established. But back in the days when Wryy was born, his parents were still of the older stock.) He lived a quite healthy life, but suddenly went into a very bad condition. I took him to animal hospital immediately but it was matter of hours and he was gone. The autopsy showed that there was a liver flaw that he probably was born with: the vet said it didn't show much symptoms because the disease was something that kinda slowly develops but only after a certain point it exceeds what the liver can take and then the body starts to gather liquids and the liver just collapses. He said he most likely wasn't in pain at all and the disease didn't affect to his life which was a relief to hear. But, he also told that there was nothing that could have been done, even if I was aware of it. He was born in 2009 and died last year. So I'm happy that I had him even that long. The vet actually told that him living so long tells that he had very good diet and conditions. But f..., I miss him so, so, so much... :( I'm actually happy that you asked. He was one of my most precious birds and I haven't been able to handle his death at all. I just start to cry every time I think about him. So it is good to reply to questions like this because they give me a chance to open up in a gentle way, slowly.

My cockatiel was covered in blood last night when I got home, it turns out he probably broke/lost a blood feather and freaked out, which was why he lost 2 more. He's doing great now, and I love your birds! They're so beautiful 💛

Hi, I have a gray cockatiel and got him last weekend. With that being said I noticed that he has like little flakes of skin on his feathers and preening alot more then usual. He's 2-3 yrs old and I don't know if he's ever had a bath (with a spray bottle). Also I was wondering if you have any tips and tricks on how to pet him, He always tries to bite me when I make any attempts. I always have him with me so he's semi hand trained he steps up, and eats seeds out of my hand at times, so he's a happy little bird. I just would like some advice on how to bathe him and pet him. P. S. Max is actually the first bird I've ever owned and I'm learning as much as possible and treating him with the respect he deserves.

Do they poop on your head?
@yummyapplestroodle7 жыл бұрын
usually not, if you keep them for too long they might. when you've had birds long enough you can actually feel it when they start to back up and squeeze that turd out so you can still save the situation and take the bird off before it's too late lol. But I'm not sure but Nymph might have pottytrained her birbs, I didn't have internet so I didn't even know you could do that when I got my cockatiels and now they are so old that I don't even bother (oldest one is 25 others are around 15)

What apple pie said. :) You kinda start to sense it when it's time to move the bird. I have had bird poo in my hair several times, but last time this happened was a loooong ago. I haven't potty-trained them that much, but I do always reinforce when they move to another place to make the poo. Yeah, I've had parrots since I was seven. Kinda grew up with them. I wish there was Internet then! Haha, I might have had a bit different start. :)

Are cockatiels really that dusty
@BlackthornWitch7 жыл бұрын
They are very dusty, yes. Even a couple cockatiels in a room will cause this powder dust layer on your TV etc. Air conditioners do help a bit. :)
