I'm a trans masc guy and my girlfriend and I just broke up after 2 years together. We started dating before I even knew I was trans, so coming out to myself and to her really took a toll on the relationship. We still love each other as best friends though. It makes me so happy to see your relationship work out.

Yay, I'm glad you liked my question :) I'm the one who started dating after 7 years of friendship. And I really recognize Jamie's story of being a bit awkward in the beginning regarding couply things. The winky face was there to indicate that specifically the intimacy in the beginning was... weird. There were several moments where one of us would go: tomptiedom... I'm kissing a cool person here... tiedieliedom... "WOW, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!... oh right :$" And then we'd just take a break and laugh it off :p

Also, btw, for me it felt like getting to know this person I knew so well all over again, because there was this romantic and sexual part of them that I didn't get to experience as a friend at all. And it's genuinely something I've been quite sad about, because I do feel to a certain extend that the person who I knew before has been overwritten by this new loving and sexual being. And I also really loved having them around as my friend. Does that make sense?

Lol how you guys first got together bit how me and my girl friend got together lol. I gave her a love note and she knew I liked her. She was just waiting for that day to come, but when she got it she freaked out. At end of day we talked and she tried to friend zone me. I was pissed that happened but after weekend I was gonna talk to her about it, but on Monday she said she would give it a go. And that's how it started. We were already friends back then too but only for only for 2 months I think. But to me she was someone who seemed like I knew them for ages.
