Why is Apple invested in making this process so DIFFICULT??? To simply move files from one device to another? Why should any user have to do a Google search, read articles, or watch a video for a task as mundane as moving file from one device to another? it should be PATENTLY OBVIOUS, but it's not. ON PURPOSE. I don't know the reason, but Apple is PURPOSELY making this hard to do!
@vKarl713 жыл бұрын
The apple system is a pain in the ass. Much of the reason is that it is much more secure, and enforces strict standards for 3d party software, so it's a trade-off you have to live with, or use PC. The super-annoying interface problems are rooted in Steve Jobs' arrogance. He's dead but his arrogance lives on. Windows has tons of problems & annoyances too. Microsoft sells software way before it has been properly tested & doesn't care if people can't open older Microsoft formats on their ne software.

@@loelee8893 I don't know. I got my iPad for drawing, and it's awesome with Procreate n stuff (but ofc way too overpriced, time other companies step their game up), but the iOS really is a hassle, not just the copying. I got a cultural shock when I found out that all my pictures get stored within one folder without a real option to sort them, or that my apps are bound to a certain arrangement instead of being freely movable. I know I am not the only one disliking that a lot, and I know that they know. But why didn't they ever change it? Feels like "why would we put in effort if people buy it anyway". If there was an android drawing tablet, I'd totally go for that one... But same goes for Windows 10, I recently upgraded and it feels like my 10 years older Windows 7 was more advanced and polished than the new version (monopoly sucks...)

Hi Chris. @0:42 🧐 Are you sure about this?? I don’t think AirDrop compresses files to my knowledge. Do you mean sending it via iMessage? Then yes it would. I just ran a test with airdropping an 8k resolution photo, no compression. In fact strangely I discovered the transferred photo had 0.21mb more than the original. In research of this answer all I could find was that the report of the original file size may not have been pin sharp accurate to begin with.

Make sure network sharing is enabled on windows and you’re using the right ip and login details.

Works for me and others. Otherwise I wouldn’t have made the video. Can you be more specific and tell me which part didn’t work for you so we can try work it out?

Not valid info. There is no file sharing to allow data to be written to the ipad

You must be watching the wrong video. Every solution provided here allows you to write to and from the iPad. Try watching again in 0.5x speed.

@@ChrisWilmshurst I think the problem is that he, me, and lots of others don't understand what's happening *at all.* What's an smb connection, how does it exactly work, what's happening in the process and so on. "You need to set up a shared folder or drive" what drive? any drive? my main drive? a new drive? will that make it public? I can create a folder, but I have no clue how to create a drive out of nowhere. How does the iPad even communicate with my pc if not connected via usb? Wifi? Network? I can continue and you probably will laugh your ass off, but that's what people try to figure out if they aren't as advanced with stuff like that. Things I am capable of: downloading discord on both systems, then upload a file with pc and download it with ipad. I understand that. I can follow that. Sadly my current file is too big without Nitro. Don't even get why it's so complicated at all, I can copy-paste my photos from iPad to PC, but reversed it seems like you have to do a master in programming before it works.

LaNoir an SMB connection is just a network connection to share files among devices. The shared folder or drive, is the folder or drive you want to access on your PC from your iPad. It could be an external drive, or an internal drive, or your main drive. The important thing is that it should be the one you want to see appear on your iPad. The hard drive won’t be public to the internet, it will be visible to your local network (home network), but you’ll need your PCs username and password to access it. The iPad connects to your local network through WiFi, so no USB cable or thumb drive needed.

Ipad is so dumb, makes ur life miserable in something as simple as transferring a file
@ChrisWilmshurst3 жыл бұрын
Agreed, but its got a hell of a lot simpler. Even easier now with iPad Pro's and hard drives.
