I had the same issue. It's because your windows firewall is blocking the connection. Search Windows Security -> firewall and network connection -> allow an app through the firewall -> make sure 1) file and printer sharing and 2) network discovery are both allowed through the firewall. Connection should be instant after!

@@jeevanandham07 No this is a transfer over your local network so both devices have to be connected on the same network (wifi). You are transferring the original file; no compression/transcoding is happening.

Thank you BUT HELP. I made it through to 2:19 in video, "select users or groups", Here, where I put in the name of my transfer folder, message returned "name not found". I notice that in the video example the select users or groups screen has "Desktop..." filled in for the location. Mine says "Laptop..." and it won't let me change the location to desktop. What to do?
