Do you have sound if you only put that cable in to the TV?

Hi ! I really like your videos :) I am just having some issues accessing the footage from my MacBook computer. I got a RCA to USB adaptor but it only runs on windows and I hit a dead end with that. I also hear that you can connect a firewire cable to the DV out just under the screen, when you flip it out. How would you recommend accessing the footage? And is there a specific software I need to get for a mac to be able to do that? Best, Alejandro
