Did you know that you can take those onions, garlic, and shallot peels that you would throw away and transform them into a delicious smoked salt that's both delicious and highly nutritious? Yes, that's totally possible! So on this recipe, I teach you all about it, check it out!
INGREDIENTS:
Garlic peels
Shallot peels
Coarse salt
You can choose to use only one type of peel or a combination of two or three of them
CUPS MEASUREMENT:
1 cup = 250 ml / 8.45 oz
1/2 cup = 125 ml / 4.22 oz
1/3 cup = 85 ml / 2.87 oz
1/4 cup = 60 ml / 2.02 oz
METHOD:
Preheat the oven to 185C / 365F.
Wash the peels thoroughly, spread them on a baking sheet, allow them to air dry or pat them dry, then put the baking sheet with the peels in the oven until the peels are crunchy and breaking easily.
The time in the oven can vary considerably, from 8 minutes to 15, depending on your oven.

Awesome, so cool to not waste food, especially on my budget! I recently got a box of peppers from a local farm I had to process them quickly because I had no room in the fridge. So I fermented, froze, and dehydrated the greener ones and roasted some red ones. As I was peeling off the charred skins and accumulating quite a bit, I decided to spread them onto my dehydrator rack until they were crispy, then pulverized them similar to this video. Very tasty but I wish I saw this first because I could have extended them with the onion skins! Thanks!

Onions,🧅 garlic 🧄, & even shallots. Didn't realize you could use like you did. So now I cry not just from the onions but from the waste too...😭🧅🧄 And I could have made your wonderful recipe! I will have to wait till next time! But I now have something delightful to look forward in making this delightful seasoning! 🧂 Again, I keep thanking you, Jana.
