I think another aspect of this is that if the darker areas still have somewhat fresh ink, it can be pulled towards the lighter areas. Sometimes that can be of use too.

Funny how after all my years drawing as a hobby, i keep forgetting this fundamental discipiline when it comes to shading: that haste makes waste. - Good reminder to take my time shading in layers, and not just aggressively scribble back and forth in hopes of accelerating the process. Funny enough, it doesn't even take up "that" much extra time to slow down a little, it's just a bad habit of mine lol
@hezokartuniversity5 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for sharing your insight. You're absolutely right, haste can indeed make waste when it comes to shading. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of creating and want to rush through the process, but taking the time to build up layers slowly and deliberately can make all the difference. It's great that you've recognized this tendency in yourself and are working to overcome it. And you're right, it doesn't have to take up a lot of extra time to slow down and be more intentional with your shading. Sometimes just being more mindful and present in the process can make a big difference. Keep practicing and thanks for watching 🙂🙂💯

hi! you mention cleaning the pen tip to avoid ink blots/marks, but how often/when exactly should it be cleaned? and does the process just consist of wiping onto a towel or something else? thanks in advance!
@hezokartuniversity11 ай бұрын
There's a need to study your pen well. If you're using a pen that's it's ink is still full, you'll not need to clean the tip that frequently as it won't be bleeding on a regular basis. As for pen that the ink has gone down due to excessive usage, then you'll need to clean the tip more often (like every 3-5 minutes) while using it as it tends to bleed more often after some series of strokes.

@farukerfen98382 ай бұрын
Can I do it using Canson 1557 ❤
@hezokartuniversityАй бұрын
For a smoother tone, I recommend going with the ultra-smooth paper, as it tends to minimize texture and gives a more consistent, even finish. Lightly textured paper can add some graininess, which might be affecting the smoothness you're looking for.
