FYI, Jhiaxus is not a Decepticon. He's the leader of the Cybetronian Empire and hates both Autobots and Decepticons. He also absolutely obliterated Optimus' face with a single slap.

@@cylasbreakdown6140 He doesn't (at least not technically). That's the Cybetronian Empire symbol which uses the same design as the G2 Decepticon symbol but in a different colour.

Well I know he is based on g2, but if you are going for the first idw series, he was a scientist who created the combiner monstructor, was Shockwave's teacher, works with Nemesis Prime and Galvatron in the ark 1, and made Arcee into a female cybertronian, (its a long story with that last part.)

Just got this toy. The instructions don't tell you this, but you can detach the front section of the scope on his shoulder, and it plugs into the back of his red rifle, giving it a new gun barrel. This allows you to fold the scope away completely in jet mode, and you can now attach the rifle on top of the jet.

​@@djdee6386 the most that would potentially do is mean Hasbro can't market them as 'IDW Lockdown' and 'IDW Drift', which they probably wouldn't do anyway. This Jhiaxus figure is based on a design from when Marvel Comics had the TF license and they were still able to make it.

The engineering on this figure is very impressive and using forearm covers to conceal hands should be a norm on all Hasbro figures. I hope this is a sign of things to come.

@@Mechtardedidiot That'd be sweet indeed! Super stoked we're getting a new Leadfoot with the Wreck'n'Rule sets. Sure he's a retool, but Kingdom Mirage's mold fits him like a glove, and personally I never bothered to pick that version of the Aristocratic Autobot up to begin with. The Fossilizer he comes with also looks pretty metal. Also, fingers crossed for a new Electro that isn't plagued by GPS!

My only issues with this guy is the chest being painted over clear plastic rather than an insert like on Siege/ER Starscream. This makes me worried for the longevity of his chest. And also the hollow underside of the cockpit. But otherwise that robot mode is great.

For those of you who don't know Jhiaxus beats the ever living SHIT out of Megatron and Optimus Prime. He NEARLY killed Megatron and ripped Optimus Prime's face plate COMPLETELY off his face! G2 comics are BRUTAL and better than G1 comics by far💯

The G2 necks are enough to put G2 comics in the horror section of any collection... I cannot judge story-wise, but graphics... I'm not too much of an enthusiast, I'm not saying you can't be a fan of G2, far from it... those necks tho...

@@BushidoBrownSama and I'm completely ok with that! At the end of the day that is completely subjective. To me, those flashy colors and over-exaggerated human-like mechanical detailing were too much. However I MUST aknowledge that G2 gifted us with one of the most Iconic and metal art of all times: G2 Megs holding Bludgeon skull. Like G2 or don't like G2, that cover is legendary by now.

One of my favorite deceptions, love him in the old G2 comics, finally, finally he's a real figure not some dopey repaint. Hasbro has definitely got to add him to a Movie, TV and or Comic series now. Nice review and I'm definitely picking this guy up!

As a truly avid fan of the Marvel G2 Comics series, I never dared 2 dream we'd actually get a such a beautiful Jhiaxus figure - mainline, 3rd Party or anything else 4 that matter - that looks like it just jumped off the page and I'm so so happy and excited Hasbro/Takara have given us 1. What an extremely random figure 4 them 2 release but thank God they did!

Not just the under kibble , but also that hollow cockpit underside that lets you see through whatever is under the jet, both are problematic, but of course, talking about sore eyes with cockpits and under carriage, Blitzwing gets the price.

@@austinung4710 I would say it is 30% accurate, cause it sticks out 70% more than it should, but yeah, it is nit picking to focus on that, but the hollow cockpit underside.. turns reaally awful depending on the display angle. EVENTHOUGH despite those two issues, and even with my hipe for the figure being hit by those, still is a very desirable piece, though not so desperate for it anymore.

I didn't follow the comic book and don't know this character all but I picked up a repackaged one for 27 bucks and I gotta say...this is a quality figure. He has opening hands, great poseability, just absolutely brilliant I think. He looks superb and I'm glad I picked him up.

never before have I been excited for a Legacy figure as much as this; tho I've never read the G2 comics, I'm somewhat familiar with Jhiaxus and his character for those who don't know, Jhiaxus (in G2 comic continuity) is the leader of the "Cybertronians", a separate/splinter faction that are the "second Generation" of Decepticons, and a bot who views himself above the Autobot/Decepticon conflict

And his name is a pun of "Gee, axe us," because Simon Furman was worried about the comic's cancellation. It's also the least-consistently spelled in official Transformers media of any Transformers name. IDW alone spelled his name at least three other ways in various comics.

Couldn't be more excited for this fig, esp after the lackluster attempts at a Jhiaxus we've seen before. That head sculpt is spot on for Yaniger's depiction and the bundles of wires in the lower legs are a perfect nod to Manny Galan's, umm, interesting take on TF design. Can't wait to pick this guy up

The G2 comics were my introduction to Transformers: I was just a bit too late for the cartoon to be shown on TV when I was young. After that I hunted down the original comics in charity shops. So Jhiaxus is definitely a well remembered face for me (even if I still never forgave him for what he did to poor Optimus!)

Thanks for the great review. Wasn't sure what to expect, I also had no idea about this guy, but I loved the look of the robot mode: tough-looking, imposing, crazy colors. I thought I would get this figure only for robot mode, because the Jet-mode' under carriage and nose-cone weapon storage in the promo pics I saw looked super lame. After watching your video, I now really like the jet-mode too. The under carriage doesn't look as bad as I thought, and the weapons above the wings looks awesome. Feeling a lot more confident and excited with my pre-order now.

Already have Tarn. My favorite thing about him is that I can have him hold just about any weapons I give him. I'm going to get Bludgeon and am picking up Jhiaxus soon. I can't wait to get them so Tarn can play "weapon dress up" with other Transformers! Do his ankle bat wings serve any purpose? Or are they there because the character uses them to fly in bot mode? Are there any other Voyagers with articulated hands?

just got jhiaxis, articulatiom, look, and the gold paint job is good, the only issue i have with em is part of the transformation of forming the wings of the jet mode. over all tho 9.5/10 would recommend

For me, robot mode is 11 out of 10. All necessary articulation is here (plus some more), no hollow parts - I wish this was standard for voyager+ figures, not exception... Single nitpick I have are elbow joints - the way these are designed, well, it begs for that nifty trick engineers incorporated into Kingdom Cyclonus' armpits. Amazing accuracy, it seems it's first 100% (robot mode) accurate representation of character that debuted in G2 comic books. Vehicle mode isn't all that great but I don't mind about it. So which obscure comic book character will be next? (I'm really hoping for Lord Straxus, I'm pretty sure extensive re-engineering of Galvatron would do the trick)
