What surprised right away was how much flexibility and movement that Optimus Prime Model has after assembling him. Model kits have come a long way since I bought them. I remember them not being able to move at all. With that being said, you did an unbelievably amazing job custom painting Optimus Prime. All of the fine detail work makes that figure pop! Really well done! Excellent job!👍🏻

Absolutely gorgeous paint job, and neat trick for sanding together the seams! But does the paint on the rubbery plastic joints cause the plastic to crack, or stiffen? I'm curious here, as another kit builder, I've never tried painting those parts before. Also, do you use any form of sealant to prevent the paint from scratching or chipping?

Assuming I would like to add the chrome silver paint onto the figure directly (11:28 onwards) without repainting my figure, would the paint stick onto the figure? Or is it necessary that i repaint the model first before adding in my own details? By the way, really cool stuff. I'm a fan of your work!
@doodlemcgee4 жыл бұрын
it would stick, i cant say for sure but painting gives it an easier surface to bond to but as long as you give it enough time to dry, painting directly onto plastic will be just fine
@aoifeoffaerun4 жыл бұрын
It'll stick, but chip/flake easier than if you sand it down, prime coat and then paint it the colour scheme you desire. Only paint on to a glossy plastic, 'if' you are certain the item will never be bumped/dropped.
