Environmental engineer here, that IS engineering. My program was born within our civil engineering program and brought in some disciplines from chemical engineering and chemistry. @Daniel Marinho was there? I don't recall reading that in any textbook or religious thing... Ever. Where's your data coming from? If you're talking about about what killed the dinosaurs. They died due to the sudden climate shift that froze most of the northern and southern hemispheres while around the equator was relatively sustainable. At no point since life started on this planet has there been a zero-sum extinction event. So please, back up your words with actual fact rather than spout nonsense like it's truth. Many things died, but many others survived, adapted, and evolved. Even those dinosaurs that survived became something we all eat commonly (chicken) it's just after the ice age evolution benefited mammals with live births due to the ability to self regulate their temperature over other things that were specialized to live in specific climates. But please, please show me what evidence you have because I'm bored and would 'love' to educate someone in fact.

@Andrei Salvaleon nuclear energy leaves behind garbage that contaminates the earth for millions of years. i wouldnt call that safer
@keelekeele3 жыл бұрын
@Andrei Salvaleon comparing radition from our garbage to the sun, what a joke. We have to isolate nuclear garbage so it dosnt kill everything around it and we already have way more of it, than we can store. We have NO PLACE for most of it and we have no way to seal it securly for the amount of time its needs to cool down. and were still producing more daily! if it comes into contact with water, all the water will be contaminated as well. We have 400'000'000 Kg of waste and we have no idea what to do with it. Nuclear power plants are literal bombs and some of them already exploded, not only killing thousands of birds, but thousands of humans, rabbits, worms, and basicly all lifeform. And those who havent died got their dna mutated. People had to run in, knowing they would die in minutes to try to cool the reactor. Nuclear garbage emits heat indefinetly, it will still burn and kill everything near it for MILLIONS of years. And shooting deadly material into space is moronic and reckless. Not only are you trying to kill other planets as well, theres a high chance it can backfire and drop a nuclear bomb on our heads. And how much pollution do you think a rocket to space generates? Currently, worldwide nuclear power generation produces 10,000m3 of high-level waste per year, how many rockets would that be every year?

@@silverdirtdraws9828 The only study that I managed to find that was actually tested in real turbines is one where scientist painted only one of the blades of the turbine completely black. If you want to give it a read and have access to a college email or something that grants you access without paying, the study is titled: "Paint it black: Efficacy of increased wind turbine rotor blade visibility to reduce avian fatalities." Seems to have finished in July of last year. It found a reduction in fatality rates of 70% compared to unpainted turbines. And some species of birds of prey avoided them entirely, the team found no carcasses of these birds surrounding the turbines. The conclusion does give a few warnings though. The study was conducted on just 4 wind turbines in a very specific part of Norway. But the experiment did run for a total of 7.5 years. Still, you probably need to test on a bigger sample to get concrete conclusions. additionally, there were some species of birds in the area that were excluded from the experiment, because they were just expected to collide with the towers anyway dues to their flying patterns. So its not a full solution for every species of bird. It did reduce the overall fatality rate quite a bit and seems to be an inexpensive solution if done before installing the turbine.
